Enter Our Global Producer Challenge

Enter Our Global Producer Challenge

Beatsource, Beatport, Loopcloud, Plugin Boutique, and LabelRadar have joined forces to host the biggest music producer challenge of 2021.

Producers can enter tracks in six genres: hip-hop/trap, reggaeton, mainstage/EDM, house, techno, and drum and bass.

The grand prize winner will receive a studio setup worth $30,000.

Five winners from each genre will be considered for a release and promo campaign via these labels: Def Jam, Spinnin’ Records, DJcity Records, Shogun Audio, Rekids, and Nervous Records.

30 finalists will receive $2,500 worth of equipment from hardware and software partners such as Akai, Reason Studios, Denon DJ, and more.

Beatsource LINK’s Offline Mode is Now Available in Serato DJ

Streaming is the future of DJing, but DJs need to be able to mix with or without an internet connection. Today, we’re excited to announce that Beatsource LINK’s offline mode, which enables DJs to mix without Wi-Fi, is finally available in Serato DJ. The update, which is integrated with Serato DJ Pro 2.5 and Lite 1.5, follows over a month of public beta testing.

Asher “Styles Davis” Finkel, at Beatsource, says:

“We’re super excited to be the first service to bring offline mode for streaming content to Serato DJ. We know that DJs need to build trust with streaming technology, and our offline locker will provide the stability and insurance they need. This is a watershed moment in the way DJs get music.”

Hercules Releases Limited Edition Gold DJControl Inpulse 500

Hercules has announced the release of a new limited edition gold version of their popular DJ controller, the DJControl Inpulse 500. The special release is limited to 1000 units, with each unit numbered 1 to 1000. The controller also comes with a Serato DJ Pro license and a carrying case.

Beatsource LINK Is Now Available in Denon DJ Devices

No laptop? No problem. After four months in beta, the Beatsource LINK streaming service for open-format DJs is now available in Denon DJ Engine OS-enabled gear. That includes standalone devices such as the Prime SC6000 player and Prime 4 controller.

Beatsource President, Brian “DJ Quickie” Wong, says:

“This is the future of DJing. Imagine showing up to your gig with just a pair of headphones and your DJ skills, logging into the Denon gear, and your personal playlists and DJ library become instantly available.”

Launched in May, LINK enables DJs to stream tracks from the Beatsource library in their DJ software, along with thousands of playlists. In addition to Engine OS, LINK is also available in Serato DJ Pro and Lite, Pioneer DJ rekordbox, VirtualDJ, Algoriddim djay and djay Pro, Hercules DJUCED, and PCDJ DEX 3.
