First Look: Serato DJ Pro 2.5 Public Beta

Beatsource Teams With Serato for All-Stars Competition

Beatsource All-Stars Competition

Beatsource is all about recognizing talented DJs. That’s why they have teamed up with Serato on the Beatsource All-Stars competition. DJs from around the world can enter for a chance to win a $1,000 paid headlining DJ set on Serato’s Twitch channel on Dec. 23, 2020. The winner will perform along with Four Color Zack, DJ Spider, and DJ Diamond Kuts.

How to enter

  1. Film yourself performing a 10-minute mix using Beatsource LINK and Serato DJ. You can only use tracks from Beatsource LINK.
  2. Upload your video to IGTV and tag #BeatsourceAllstars, @serato, and @beatsourceofficial in your caption. Your video must be published by midnight PST on Dec. 8, 2020.

Judging

Beatsource will review all entries on Dec. 9, 2020, and select one winner on Dec. 16, 2020. The mixes will be judged on creativity and vibe.

First Look: Phase Integration with Serato DJ Pro

Two years after first making waves at the NAMM Show, Phase manufacturer MWM has announced a collaboration with Serato. MWM’s needle-replacing hardware is now an Official Serato Accessory, which means it can now communicate with Serato DJ Pro directly through USB.

The upgrade will enhance the overall performance of Phase with Serato thanks to improved HID protocol. MWM also teased other features that will roll out later, including LED customization and more.

On this episode of Tips and Tricks, Mojaxx takes a trip to NAMM in Anaheim, California to report on the collaboration between Serato and Phase. Watch above.

The highly-anticipated release of the Phase wireless DJ system is just around the corner. But before it ships in September, Phase’s parent company Music World Media recently set off on a global tour to give DJs a chance to see the device in person. The tour features workshops, open sessions, and showcases, and will make stops throughout the U.S., Europe, and Asia.

To highlight what’s happening on Phase’s Live Session – Launch Tour, DJcityTV has partnered with MWM on a new series called Journey to: Phase Live Session. The series is presented by Battle Avenue director and Fresh Press host, Antriks, who will take viewers behind-the-scenes on tour.

The first episode takes place at the 2018 DJ Expo in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Antriks introduces the series then shows a preview of DJ Precision testing out Phase.

Exclusive First Look: Phase Wireless DJ System

DJcityTV’s Mojaxx recently traveled to Paris to get an exclusive first look at the highly-anticipated Phase wireless DJ system.

The device, which enables turntable DJs to control tracks from their DJ software without using a cartridge and control vinyl, is now available for pre-order. It premiered in January at NAMM to great acclaim.

During his examination, Mo was joined by DJcity France director, DJ Stresh. The former Red Bull Music 3Style France champion put Phase to a scratch test.

Phase is set to ship in September. It costs $349 for the Essential Pack (one receiver and two remotes) and $549 for the Ultimate Pack (one receiver and four remotes).
