Our Favorite DJ Routines of 2022
DJ and turntablism culture continued to evolve in 2022, reaching new levels of creativity and technical ability. We saw DJs from all corners of the world throw down with a diverse range of equipment and genres. To celebrate the talent, we compiled a video of our favorite routines of the year, including original content from Beatsource and DJcity, along with outside videos that we featured on our Instagram account. 2022 Beyond the Music Retreat Recap
The 2022 Beyond the Music Retreat was one for the books. The educational conference for DJs, which took place from June 13-15 in Arizona, was attended by hundreds of DJs from around the world and featured a variety of discussion panels and networking events. A question often asked by some Serato DJ Pro users is how they can get their crates, cues and loops into Rekordbox. Not because they want to switch, but so they can do a gig or two playing just off USB drives on CDJs. Atlanta’s Robbie Wilde (thatDEAFdj) Delivers Fast-Paced Routine for DJcityTV’s ‘Bedroom Sessions’
Atlanta-based turntablist Robbie Wilde, a.k.a. thatDeafDJ, has delivered a fast-paced wordplay routine for DJcityTV’s Bedroom Sessions.
Despite having almost complete hearing loss, Wilde has excelled as both a turntablist and open-format DJ. He first made waves in the New York/New Jersey club scene in the early 2000s before doing national tours at schools and universities for the deaf community. He has performed for high-profile clients and events like Warner Brothers, Paramount, the NBA, New York Fashion Week, and more.

Laredo, Texas-based turntablist DJ LemonBeatz has dropped a technical and energetic routine for DJcityTV’s Bedroom Sessions. He cleverly weaves Latin and hip-hop bangers with skillful scratching.
At 21-years old, LemonBeatz has already made a name for himself in his area’s DJ scene through consistent club and private event work.

First Look: Serato DJ Pro 2.5.11
Serato has released the latest version of its flagship DJ Pro software, 2.5.11, which includes the promised support for Pioneer DJ’s XDJ-RX3. The standalone device, released in late 2021, can play files directly from USB, Rekordbox DJ, and now, from Serato DJ Pro. Mojaxx takes a first look on the new episode of Beatsource Tech.
