Mojaxx Reviews Upgrades in AIAIAI TMA-2 Headphones

Danish headphone manufacturer AIAIAI released their modular TMA-2 headphones four years ago, and this week has added some new upgrades to their configuration options.

Watch DJ SPYK’s ‘Bedroom Sessions’ Routine

DJ SPYK, a 29-year-old turntablist based in Berlin, has delivered a creative routine for DJcityTV’s Bedroom Sessions.

SPYK began his career as a radio and club DJ in Nigeria before moving to Germany in 2015. His goal is to compete in the Red Bull 3Style while continuing to travel and rock parties.

DJ Fuze Flips Tracks From Nov. 1999 and Nov. 2019

REAL 92.3‘s DJ Fuze mixes tracks from November 1999 and November 2019 for Beatsource‘s 20-Year View series.

Previously hosted on DJcityTV, 20-Year View features Fuze performing routines with new and classic tracks that were popular 20 years apart from each other. The series is now hosted by Beatsource, which offers a catalog of new and classic tracks.

DJcityTV’s Cutting Room has traveled to Milan, Italy in advance of the 2019 Red Bull 3Style Italy National Finals. Led by 2018 Red Bull 3Style World Champion and DJcity Italy representative, DJ Damianito, the lineup includes turntablists like Simo G, DJ Myke aka Micionero, DJ Aladyn, DJ Dops, and DJ Mate.

Pioneer DJ Releases XDJ-XZ Controller

Pioneer DJ has released a new all-in-one controller, the XDJ-XZ.

The device, which can be used with USB drives or a rekordbox-equipped laptop, “feels exactly like you’re using the CDJ-2000NXS2 and DJM-900NXS2,” according to the press release. Serato DJ Pro support will be added in early 2020.

“It is the closest thing you can get to a full two deck [Pioneer DJ] NXS2 setup at around a third of the price,” DJcityTV’s Mojaxx says.

Serato DJ Pro 2.3.1 Adds Support for Denon DJ PRIME 4 and SC5000M

Serato has released Serato DJ Pro 2.3.1, an update that provides support for the Denon DJ PRIME 4 controller and SC5000M media player. Upon updating DJ Pro and the Denon DJ firmware, the units will work as Official Serato Accessories with enhanced functionality like hot cues, FX, and more.

Beatsource and DJ Spider Launch ‘The 20 Podcast’

Beatsource, the new digital music service from Beatport and DJcity, has launched The 20 Podcast. Hosted by DJ Spider, the show features interviews with influential DJs and music industry professionals. Spider and the guests begin by going through standout tracks from Beatsource’s weekly list of must-have songs, The 20.

For the debut episode, Spider sits down with Miles Beard, VP of A&R at Artist Partner/Artist Publishing Group (APG), an arm of Atlantic Records. Miles was responsible for signing Charlie Puth and has A&R’d hits for stars like David Guetta, Pitbull, and Jason Derulo. Miles discusses his journey from starting as a DJ in Los Angeles to becoming a successful A&R.
