Due to restrictions placed at music venues worldwide because of COVID-19, many clubs have been forced to practice social distancing by transforming their dance floors into safe dining and lounge areas. DJs are now required to ditch their typical dance set in exchange for a more laid-back, mellow mix to encourage crowds to respect these guidelines. We talked to several DJcity representatives and friends from around the world to find out what are some of their favorite lounge-style tracks from the DJcity record pool.

Beatsource LINK Is Now Available in Denon DJ Devices

Beatsource LINK Is Now Available in Denon DJ Devices

No laptop? No problem. After four months in beta, the Beatsource LINK streaming service for open-format DJs is now available in Denon DJ Engine OS-enabled gear. That includes standalone devices such as the Prime SC6000 player and Prime 4 controller.

Beatsource President, Brian “DJ Quickie” Wong, says:

“This is the future of DJing. Imagine showing up to your gig with just a pair of headphones and your DJ skills, logging into the Denon gear, and your personal playlists and DJ library become instantly available.”

Launched in May, LINK enables DJs to stream tracks from the Beatsource library in their DJ software, along with thousands of playlists. In addition to Engine OS, LINK is also available in Serato DJ Pro and Lite, Pioneer DJ rekordbox, VirtualDJ, Algoriddim djay and djay Pro, Hercules DJUCED, and PCDJ DEX 3.

In October, after months of anticipation, Beatsource integrated the Beatsource LINK music streaming service for open-format DJs with Serato DJ. It was a groundbreaking advancement; however, it was just the beginning of their partnership with Serato.

Today, we’re excited to announce that Beatsource LINK’s offline mode, which enables DJs to mix without an internet connection, is coming to Serato DJ Pro 2.5 and Lite 1.5 soon. You’ll be able to mix anywhere with Beatsource LINK.
