Watch: Ethan Leo Performs Innovative Routine for DJcityTV

Italian DJ and multi-instrumentalist, Ethan Leo, has performed an innovative routine for DJcityTV.

Ethan, who is known for fusing live instrumentation with DJing, starts the routine by looping two guitar tracks with the Headrush Looperboard. He then overlays a drum break from Torpedo Boyz‘s “Welcome to the Sugar Show” track, and creates a bass line and synthesizer solo using the Denon DJ SC5000. He finishes up the performance by scratching with DJ Brace‘s Nasty Cuts seven-inch.

‘R.O.A.D. Podcast’: DJ Neva Talks Growing up During the Golden Age of Hip-Hop

On this week’s R.O.A.D. Podcast, the crew talks to their very own, DJ Neva. The New York native recalls growing up in the Bronx during the early park jam era and interacting with hip-hop icons, Kool DJ Red Alert and Lovebug Starski.

Neva also explains how he earned his first DJ residencies in New York City and why he relocated to Las Vegas to continue his career.

Watch DJ Blaze’s ‘Bedroom Sessions’ Routine

DJ Blaze, Hong Kong’s 2016 Boom Battle DJ champion, throws down in a Bruce Lee inspired routine for DJcityTV’s Bedroom Sessions.

Blaze, who has opened up for acts like DJ Snake, Usher, and Lil Jon, began his career in Canada where he worked the club and party circuit in Ontario. In 2007, he followed his Chinese roots and made a move to Hong Kong where he is now based and continues rock parties across Asia.

The 39-year-old is working towards becoming the first DJ to represent Hong Kong in the Red Bull 3Style World Championship.

Pioneer DJ has announced its latest Serato-enabled controller, the DDJ-1000SRT. The unit is based on the company’s club-standard CDJ and DJM mixer setup. The four-channel controller features full-sized jog wheels, 16 performance pads, two FX banks, DVS support, and more.

The DDJ-1000SRT unlocks Serato DJ Pro, and the first 5,000 units sold will also come with Serato DJ Suite. Suite includes Pitch ‘n Time, Serato Flip, Serato Video, and more.

Major Lazer‘s Walshy Fire blessed DJcity’s MikiDz Show on Monday with a one-of-a-kind appearance. The Jamaican native, who’s riding the wave from his Abeng album, kicked off the night with an inspiring interview followed by a high-energy, globally-minded set.

The conversation touched on several topics, including his mission to connect the Caribbean and Africa, and the importance of mic skills for DJs. As for his set, Walshy delivered a variety of Caribbean and African sounds, along with other styles like hip-hop and house. Included were several dubplates, a testament to Walshy’s legendary status.
