Atlanta-based turntablist Robbie Wilde, a.k.a. thatDeafDJ, has delivered a fast-paced wordplay routine for DJcityTV’s Bedroom Sessions.
Despite having almost complete hearing loss, Wilde has excelled as both a turntablist and open-format DJ. He first made waves in the New York/New Jersey club scene in the early 2000s before doing national tours at schools and universities for the deaf community. He has performed for high-profile clients and events like Warner Brothers, Paramount, the NBA, New York Fashion Week, and more.

The 23-year-old DJ first got on the decks at the early age of 12. He has since made a name for himself by winning national DJ battles and through his online radio station, Shopa.Stream, where he hosts the show Less Jukeboxes More Real Deejays.

Have you spent hours in your bedroom fine-tuning your live routine, wearing out your crossfader, and brainstorming the most clever wordplay you could come up with? If so, DJcity has a prime opportunity for you to showcase your talents to a worldwide audience.
DJcityTV’s Bedroom Sessions mix series has been highlighting turntablists and their creativity for years. We’re looking for you to continue that tradition.
All that is required is recording a 2-4 minute video of throwing down a routine in a party-rocking/club style that incorporates scratching and juggling, tone play, wordplay, or other related skills. No need to edit the video yourself, just record and send your raw footage to “brs@djcity.com” and our in-house video team will handle the rest.
