Pioneer DJ Announces rekordbox 6.0 & rekordbox for iOS 3.0

Pioneer DJ‘s rekordbox 6.0 and rekordbox for iOS 3.0 are now available. These updates now allow DJs to sync their entire music libraries to multiple devices, including Beatport LINK access, via cloud-based application Dropbox.

Export mode users can prepare sets free of charge with the performance mode’s virtual DJing environment. Among other things, this update ensures that if your computer goes missing or gets damaged, the music and metadata in your DJ library will be up to date and safely stored in the cloud.

With this update, Serato can officially integrate with Pioneer DJ‘s four-month-old all-in-one DJ system: the XDJ-XZ. The DJ software’s colored waveforms now appear on Pioneer’s seven-inch screen and CDJ-sized jog wheel displays. Furthermore, Serato DJ Pro support for the XDJ-XZ allows for four-deck mixing capabilities and other Serato specific software features to be enabled.

Serato Chief Strategy Officer Nick Maclaren says, “It’s super exciting to deliver official Serato support for the XDJ-XZ. This powerhouse has already proven to be immensely popular – the versatility of this all-in-one system means it could take center stage at house parties, mobile gigs, and professional club setups. Pioneer DJ has announced a new controller, the DDJ-800. Designed to be used with the company’s rekordbox DJ software, the DDJ-800 takes cues from the popular DDJ-1000. However, the DDJ-800 is smaller and more affordable.

The device offers two channels, switchable between four virtual decks, with a wide selection of Sound Color and Beat FX.

Its five-inch jog wheels feature full-color screens in the center, providing real-time display of waveforms, BPM, time, and more. They also have tension adjustments, enabling DJs to personalize the resistance.

Several pad modes are found on the DDJ-800, including hot cues, keyboard mode, beat loop and jump, Pad FX, and pitch shift. It’s also the first rekordbox DJ controller to support the software’s new Feedback Reducer feature, which is designed to instantly detect and remove the howling sound of feedback when using the unit’s two microphone inputs.

The DDJ-800 will be available worldwide in mid-April for $899. Get more details here, and stay tuned for Mojaxx’s first look this week.
