Pioneer DJ Announces rekordbox Professional Plan With Unlimited Cloud Storage

Pioneer DJ has partnered with file hosting service Dropbox for the new rekordbox Professional Plan. The plan offers unlimited cloud storage for music libraries.

The rekordbox Professional plan is the first-ever DJ software to offer unlimited storage capacity via Dropbox. Users can upload their tracks to the cloud, which retains metadata such as playlists, hot cues, loops, and tags.

The plan allows DJs to create a database for each device they use. By backing up the device database, they can then can easily recover their library from rekordbox at any time if one device is lost or damaged. The plan also offers the ability to sync your rekordbox library across up to eight devices, for easy gig prep on-the-go.

Pioneer DJ Announces DJM-S7 Mixer

Pioneer DJ has announced their latest two-channel battle mixer, the DJM-S7. The unit is geared toward open-format DJs, allowing a range of customization options to tailor the mixer to each individual’s performance style. It also comes in at a more affordable price point than Pioneer DJ’s other two-channel mixers.

The DJM-S7 has the 16 large performance pads (eight per channel) and Magvel fader their battle mixers are known for. Each channel’s pad modes are independent, meaning, for example, deck one’s pads can be set to trigger hot cues while deck two is set to the sample bank.

The effects section includes all 22 Beat FX from the DJM-S11, and the mixer also has Bluetooth connectivity for additional audio routing. Other features borrowed from the DJM-S11 (when used with Serato DJ Pro) are Scratch Bank, Gate Cue, and the aforementioned Combo Pad mode.

Loop MIDI, a new feature exclusive to the DJM-S7, allows DJs to use the effect levers to send MIDI messages to Serato DJ Pro and rekordbox, as a way to control performance features rhythmically.

Pioneer DJ’s DJM-S7 is available now at a suggested retail price of $1399 USD. Watch Mojaxx’s first look below.
