Hercules has announced the release of a new limited edition gold version of their popular DJ controller, the DJControl Inpulse 500. The special release is limited to 1000 units, with each unit numbered 1 to 1000. The controller also comes with a Serato DJ Pro license and a carrying case.
Watch Matsu perform on the controller below and purchase the DJControl Inpulse 500 Gold Edition, available for pre-order Sweetwater. The unit is compatible with Beatsource LINK, the premier music streaming service for open-format DJs.
Following its recent launch with VirtualDJ, Beatsource LINK has announced an integration with Hercules’ DJUCED 5 performance software. DJUCED is included with Hercules‘ DJ controllers and is used by over 650,000 users worldwide.
Beatsource LINK, which launched in early May, lets DJs stream millions of tracks and access hundreds of curated playlists in their performance software. Premium subscriptions offer Beatsource’s patented offline locker, which enables DJs to perform without an internet connection.
Beatport LINK, which is based on the same technology as Beatsource LINK, is also available in DJUCED 5.
Check out VirtualDJ’s introduction video below. Note that it shows Beatport LINK, which, as mentioned above, is built on the same technology as Beatsource LINK. Beatport LINK, however, offers a dance and electronic-centric catalog, whereas Beatsource LINK provides a wide variety of genres.
The portable controller has bass EQ/filter knobs, touch-sensitive jog wheels, and RGB backlighting to allow for easy mixing. It also comes with Serato DJ Lite software.

For over a decade, Hercules has made budget DJ controllers that use VirtualDJ or their own software. However, the company changed course this year when they unveiled their first Serato-enabled controller, the DJControl Jogvision.
Is Hercules’ foray into a new market a success, though? Watch this week’s episode of DJcityTV’s Tips & Tricks to find out.
