Hundreds of DJs Attend DJcity Linkup in London

On Saturday, hundreds of DJs from around the UK gathered at Red Bull Studios in London for the DJcity Linkup. The gathering, which was organized by DJcity UK, brought together a diverse group of DJs under one roof. They included radio personalities such as MistaJam and Swerve along with turntablists like Brace, JFB, and Jon1st.
Website UK Grime wrote, “It’s safe to say, many of those in attendance left the event inspired and re-energised.”
DJcity UK Director DJ Play, added, “amazing things happen when we all work together.”

Watch Dean Guest’s New Routine for DJcityTV
Toronto DJ and turntablist Dean Guest has put down a new routine for DJcityTV. The three-minute video contains current and classic tracks along with scratching and word play.
Dean’s last video for DJcity, which was based on Stevie Wonder’s “Superstitious,” has received over 170,000 combined views.

Watch Rafik, Kireek and Yuto Throw Down at Native Instruments’ Tokyo Studio
Before winning the DMC World Championship on Saturday, DJ Yuto stopped by Native Instruments’ studio in Tokyo for a cut session. He was joined by 2007 DMC World Champion DJ Rafik and former five-time DMC World Team Champions Kireek. They were equipped with four Technics turntables, three Native Instruments Z2 mixers, and two custom Native Instruments Maschine controllers. Watch above to see what happened.
DJ Woody Will Perform on the MikiDz Show
World-renowned turntablist DJ Woody is set to perform on DJcity’s MikiDz Show live stream on October 3 at 7 p.m. PST.
Famous for pushing the boundaries of turntablism, Woody has been dubbed by DJ QBert as a “genius” and by Hudson Mohawke as “the best DJ in the world.” He won the ITF and Vestax world championships in 2001 and 2002, respectively, and co-designed the Vestax Controller One turntable a couple of years later.
Woody has since released dozens of acclaimed videos and performed showcases at DMC and IDA world championships. He is also a skilled producer and is set to release his debut solo album in October.
The live stream will be co-hosted by DJcity’s MikiWAR and DJ Dainjazone.

A.M. Sniper Announces New Single ‘4What’ Featuring Wiley
“4What” marks the second single from A.M. Sniper this year, following the success of “Hype” featuring Curren$y, which charted in several regions.

Japan’s DJ Yuto Wins DMC World Championship
Japanese turntablist DJ Yuto won the 2016 DMC World Championship in London on Saturday night. The Tokyo native was followed by Canada’s DJ Brace and the USA’s DJ Traps in second and third place, respectively.
Brazil’s DJ Erick Jay won the Battle for World Supremacy and France’s DJ FLY and DJ Netik won the World Team Championship.
Yuko’s “Can’t Stop” routine, which was released in December, is one of the most viewed videos of all time on DJcityTV.

Watch James Hype’s ‘UK Top 20 Mix’
DJcity has enlisted London’s James Hype for a new mix series featuring tracks from DJcity UK’s monthly Top 20 chart. The chart usually consists of house tracks, but hip-hop and grime songs are also included from time to time.
