Sean Paul Teams With Major Lazer for New Single and Video, ‘Tip Pon It’

on |Sean Paul has teamed with Major Lazer for a moombahton-influenced single called “Tip Pon It.” The track follows Paul’s “Mad Love” collab with David Guetta and Becky G.
The dancehall legend previously collaborated with Major Lazer on 2014’s “Come On To Me,” 2015’s “One Wine,” and most recently on the trio’s “Buscando Huellas” featuring J Balvin.
“Tip Pon It” has also received an accompanying video. Directed by French director Alexandre Courtès, the visual features a supersized Sean Paul dancing on the set of the music video.

The visual finds Sean and Becky sharing some dance moves in a neon-lit room. Guetta hangs out alone in a room next door before eventually joining the party.
“Mad Love,” which was co-written by Shakira, is believed to be a single from Sean’s forthcoming seventh studio album.

on |Major Lazer has dropped a video for “Buscando Huellas,” their reggaeton-influenced track with J Balvin and Sean Paul. The visuals feature Balvin and Jillionaire showing off their dance moves at a warehouse.
The single, which appears on Major Lazer’s Know No Better EP, was DJcity’s sixth most downloaded track of June. It marks the second collaboration between Major Lazer and J Balvin, following 2015’s “Lean On” remix. Sean Paul has also worked with the trio, having been featured on their 2014 single, “Come On To Me.”

Valentino Khan’s ‘Gold’ Video Feat. Sean Paul

on |Valentino Khan and Sean Paul‘s dancehall and moombahton collab “Gold” has received the visual treatment. The fitting video depicts a man roaming the streets of Jamaica as he chases gold and fame. Khan and Paul both make an appearance.
The track, which was DJcity’s 21st most downloaded song of October, appears on Major Lazer‘s new Give Me Future documentary.

In some cases, there can be 10 tracks floating around that all use the same instrumental but feature different artists and lyrics.
Dancehall legend Sean Paul has continued the tradition by dropping his own version of J Balvin and Willy William‘s reggaeton smash, “Mi Gente.” Paul’s track, which is called “Volcano,” pairs the original instrumental with new lyrics.

on |A day after he dropped his new dancehall-influenced single “Body” featuring Migos, Sean Paul has released the visual for it. The carnival-themed video, which was directed by DAPS, was shot in Miami. Sean told DJcity,
“Shooting outside in Miami is always a great way to gauge people’s reactions to a song and it was hype!”

on |Dancehall legend Sean Paul has joined forces with Atlanta rap trio Migos for a new single titled “Body.” The song, which features production from Jamaica’s Don Corleon, will appear on Sean’s forthcoming seventh studio album. It is the follow-up to “Suh Mi High,” which dropped last week.
In a statement to DJcity, Sean said,
“Migos is one of my favorite rap groups right now. I love how all three of them have different styles and it was wicked to have them flow over a dancehall-oriented track.”

Clean Bandit’s Jack Patterson Discusses How ‘Rockabye’ Was Produced

on |Following Thursday’s look at how Chance the Rapper’s “No Problem” was produced, Genius is back with a new episode of Deconstructed. In this installment, Clean Bandit member Jack Patterson breaks down how he co-produced “Rockabye.”
The song, which features Sean Paul and singer Anne-Marie, was DJcity’s 13th most downloaded track of November and is currently number nine on Billboard’s Hot 100. It is the second single off the group’s forthcoming second studio album.
In the video, the British producer discusses the different elements of the dancehall-influenced song. He also goes through the various VSTs he used within Ableton Live and Pro Tools.
