DJ Rebel Remixes Black Eyed Peas’ ‘Shut Up’: DJcity Exclusive

Belgian DJ/producer DJ Rebel is back with a house remix of Black Eyed Peas‘ 2003 international hit, “Shut Up.” In 2020, Rebel and partnered with Los Angeles-based vocalist Joelii for a DJcity Records’ release titled, “Rivales.”

Regarding his latest remix, Rebel says, “I wanted to take these classic vocals and create a funky/tech house remix, one of those records that really can get the party started no matter where you’re DJing. Hope everyone likes it!”

Freejak Remixes Rihanna’s ‘Only Girl (In The World)’: DJcity Premiere

UK-based DJ and producer Freejak returns with a smooth house remix of Rihanna‘s 2010 hit, “Only Girl (In The World).” The original track, which was released on the Barbadian singer’s fifth album, Loud, reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

Regarding the remix, Freejak says, “I have had the honor of flipping many legendary vocalists in my time as a producer, and who wouldn’t want to work with Rihanna’s vocals? With the lion’s share of the work done from her performance I only had to try to find a compatible and comfortable backing. With a huge rave music resurgences here in the UK I wanted to reach for something of that nature and some big rave stabs just seemed to do the trick.”

Andy Jarvis Remixes Benny Benassi’s ‘Cinema’ Feat. Gary Go: DJcity Exclusive

British DJ/producer Andy Jarvis is back with a modern deep house remix of Benny Benassi‘s 2011 classic “Cinema,” featuring Gary Go. The original track, which was produced by Benny and Alle Benassi, is featured on Benny’s fourth studio album, Electroman.

Regarding the remix, Jarvis says, “I took the song into a UK deep house direction with heavy four to the floor kicks, a FM Bass which slaps and the additional piano grooves to get people on their feet!”

The Tall Boys Remix Missy Elliott’s ‘Get Ur Freak On’: DJcity Exclusive

DJcity’s in-house production team the Tall Boys have dropped a modern take on Missy Elliott’s 2001 hit, “Get Ur Freak On.” The original track, which was produced by Timbaland, reached number seven on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2001.

Regarding the remix, the Tall Boys say, “we play a lot of hip-hop in our sets so the goal here was to ask ourselves what the production on this song might sound like if it were made today and modernize it so DJs can play our remix alongside the most popular current hits.”

Andy Jarvis Remixes Florence And The Machine’s ‘You’ve Got The Love’: DJcity Exclusive

UK-based DJ/producer Andy Jarvis returns with a tech house remix of Florence and The Machine‘s 2009 hit, “You’ve Got The Love.” The track was initially released to widespread acclaim by The Source featuring Candi Staton in 1986 and was remixed and re-released before Florence Welch’s take in 1991, 1997, and 2006.

Regarding his version, Jarvis says, “Nothing beats hearing the opening lines to ‘You’ve Got The Love.’ I really wanted to produce this remix to get the song playing back in the clubs again. Enjoy my tech house remix of this incredible song with a surprise element on the drop that will be sure to make the crowd go wild!”

Dutchman Tomcio returns with an uptempo, bass-laden take on “Hey Mama,” David Guetta‘s 2014 collaboration with Afrojack and Nicki Minaj. The global top 10 pop and dance hit was a hook-driven electro-trap banger. Tomcio’s remix gets a racing and booming moombahton refresh.”

“Normally, I remix urban classics that are way older, but ‘Hey Mama’ seems a bit forgotten despite being less than seven years old, and I really wanted a new version of it for my DJ sets,” says Tomcio. “So I provided more energy and my Dutch moombah style.”
