Pioneer DJ Announces New PLX-500 Turntable
Pioneer DJ has announced the PLX-500, a new budget turntable for both DJs and music fans.
The PLX-500 inherits the layout of Pioneer’s PLX-1000 professional turntable and is ready to use out of the box thanks to its line output. The high-torque deck is also equipped with a USB out port, so that users can make digital recordings with Pioneer’s rekordbox software.
The PLX-500 will be available in early September at a suggested retail price of €349. It comes in two colors: black (PLX-500-K) and white (PLX-500-W).

Numark Introduces Mixtrack Platinum Controller
Numark has introduced the Mixtrack Platinum, a new Serato DJ-enabled controller with high-definition LCD displays, four-deck capability, and touch-capacitive jog wheels.
The Mixtrack Platinum builds on the company’s popular Mixtrack 3 and Mixtrack 3 Pro controllers and retails for only $299 USD.
“The LCD readouts and those one-of-a-kind touch-capacitive platters give the DJ instant feedback and ultimate control,” Numark’s Senior Product Manager Chris Roman said in a press release. “This is a fun-to-use, pro-level controller at an incredible value that will be a hit with all DJs.”

17-Year-Old DJ Sara Scratches With Reloop’s Beatpad 2
Algoriddim has shared a video of 17-year-old DJ Sara freestyle scratching with their djay Pro software and Reloop’s Beatpad 2 DJ controller.
Sara came to prominence in 2011 after her and her brother DJ Ryusei posted a series of scratch videos on YouTube. The videos caught the attention of the turntablism community, and in 2012, Sara and Ryusei joined DJ QBert in a scratch session.

Texas’ DJ Flashh Delivers Mix for DJcity Podcast
DJ Flashh, a mixer on Fort Worth, Texas’ 106.1 KISS FM, has delivered 30 minutes of mostly hip-hop and twerk for this week’s DJcity USA Mix. His set begins with a “Rock The Bells” scratch routine, which he performed at a recent battle in Ft. Worth.
