Watch DJ Per4m’s ‘Bedroom Sessions’ Routine

DJ Per4m, a 36-year old party rocker from Philadelphia, has dropped a throwback hip-hop mix for DJcityTV’s Bedroom Sessions.

Per4m has been DJing for over 15 years and is active in the Philadelphia club scene. He also runs the mobile DJ company Skyline DJ Group, specializing in high-end events in Philly and New York City.

DJcityTV and DJ Fuze Team for New Series, ’20-Year View’

As a mixer on Los Angeles’ Power 106, DJ Fuze plays current hits on a daily basis. However, as a club DJ, Fuze also spins classics.

To compare different eras, DJcityTV has enlisted Fuze for a new series called 20-Year View. As its name suggests, the series features Fuze performing routines with new and classic tracks that were popular 20 years apart from each other.

For the debut episode, Fuze flips tracks that were popular in March 1999 and March 2019.

Watch: Brandan Duke the DJ Drops ‘King’s Dead’ Routine

Brandan Duke the DJ, a 12-year old turntablist from Ontario, Canada, has put down a routine for Serato. In his performance, Duke flips Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar, Future, & James Blake‘s Grammy Award-winning track “King’s Dead.”

Duke is the 2018 Goldie Awards Vice Champion. He formerly held the Guinness World Record for youngest club DJ, having played at the Kool Haus in Toronto at the age of six.

DJ Stonic Launches Netflix Parody Series, ‘Scratchflix’

Scratchflix

Stonic, a former Red Bull Music 3Style and DMC contender, has launched a Netflix parody series titled Scratchflix. Each episode is a routine that combines turntablism with references to popular Netflix shows and movies.

So far, Scratchflix has released two episodes: “Boscratch Horseman,” a spoof of the animated series, BoJack Horseman, and “Scratch Mirror,” a parody of the sci-fi anthology, Black Mirror.

Watch: DJ MORENNO Performs Routine at 3Style IX World Finals

DJ MORENNO, the 2018 Red Bull Music 3Style Brazil champ, put down a routine for DJcityTV during the IX World Finals week in Taipei. It was filmed at the W Hotel.

In the video, MORENNO cuts over La Fine Equipe‘s remix of “Walkin” by French duo MC2.

Watch Vega’s ‘Bedroom Sessions’ Routine

Vega, a 30-year-old turntablist from Seattle, has put down an eclectic mix for DJcityTV’s Bedroom Sessions. The 2015 Red Bull Music 3Style competitor blends new and old hits with clever wordplay, scratches, and juggles.

Vega is a mixer on Seattle’s KUBE 93.3, and has opened for such acts as J. Cole, 2 Chainz, and Dave Chappelle. He is also the official DJ for artists Ryan Caraveo and Gifted Gab.

Watch: DJ Byte Performs Routine at 3Style IX World Finals

DJcity traveled to the Red Bull Music 3Style IX World Finals in Taiwan in January. While on location, we filmed routines with noteworthy DJs including the 2015 world champion DJ BYTE. In his performance, the Chilean turntablist flips the track “GION” by producer Uki.

Watch Trayze Perform Live Remix With Roland TR-08 and Serato DJ Pro TR-SYNC

Trayze has dropped a live remix of the classic house track “Percolator,” along with a breakdown of his equipment setup. In the routine, he uses Serato DJ Pro’s recently added TR-SYNC feature with a Roland TR-08 drum machine.

After the performance, Trayze shows how he combines the TR-08 with his turntable setup and Serato DJ Pro. Using the TR-SYNC feature, he is able to match the BPM of the track with that of the drum machine.

Formerly known as Cajmere, Green Velvet‘s Chicago house anthem “Percolator” has been a staple for dance music DJs since its release in 1992.
