Nanoleaf DJ Lighting? Engine 2.3 and Soundswitch 2.6 Updates | Beatsource Tech
The latest updates for the Engine DJ ecosystem have just been released, with version 2.3 of the desktop software and hardware OS bringing a bunch of bug fixes and quality of life improvements.
But the big news is found in version 2.6 of Soundswitch, which follows the earlier Philips Hue integration with the new ability to synchronise with the Youtuber-favourite Nanoleaf LED panels, promising a stunning light show for live streams and performance videos, with no DMX knowledge required. We check it all out on the new episode of Beatsource Tech.

SoundSwitch has released a new hardware device for its software and Engine Lighting, the Control One. This gives users full access to many of the features within the software at the touch of a button, and also acts as a USB to DMX interface, with dual universes, DMX inputs, and two USB ports for easy switching between DJs.
Mojaxx brings us his full review in this week’s episode of Tips and Tricks. Watch above.

Released in summer 2016, SoundSwitch enables DJs to control DMX lighting fixtures through Serato DJ with custom scripts. Lighting effects are automatically triggered when tracks are played live.
SoundSwitch 1.2 introduces additional attribute controls and an updated fixture library. There are also new drag and drop effects, as well as general stability improvements.

First Look: SoundSwitch for Serato DJ
DJcityTV’s Mojaxx provides a first look at SoundSwitch, a new product that enables DJs to control DMX lighting with Serato DJ.
SoundSwitch, which was announced in June, is a joint venture between Serato and fellow New Zealand company Onesixone.
SoundSwitch for Serato DJ Is Now Available
SoundSwitch, a new software and hardware package that provides an interface between Serato DJ with lighting systems, is now available.
SoundSwitch enables DJs to attach lighting cues and effects to audio files, which are automatically triggered when the music is played through Serato DJ.
”DJs can now easily consider the impact lighting can have on their live performance and in turn the experience of their crowd,” SoundSwitch CEO Zak Meyers said in a press release. “We are looking forward to seeing how DJs approach SoundSwitch and what affect [sic] it has in the performance space.”
The hardware and software package can be purchased via SoundSwitch’s website for $499 USD. Those who buy the bundle will gain access to the software immediately, but the hardware won’t arrive until August.
