On a new episode of Tips and Tricks, Mojaxx gives the first review of Mixars’ latest big product, the QUATTRO. Unveiled last January, the QUATTRO is a four-channel club mixer designed for Serato DJ. It has 16 dedicated RGB pads for cue, loop, and sample controls, and two USB ports for easy DJ changeovers. It also serves as the big brother to the Italian manufacturer’s DUO battle mixer. Mixars CUT

Despite being the new kid on the block, Mixars has already made a big impact on the DJ industry. The company has released a variety of devices since launching in 2016, including the DUO mixer, which Mojaxx reviewed last August.

On this episode of Tips and Tricks, Mojaxx reviews the Mixars CUT, an affordable two-channel battle mixer. The CUT was announced in 2016 alongside the Serato DJ-enabled DUO.

Italian manufacturer Mixars has debuted two new products ahead of the NAMM trade show in California this week.

The first is the QUATTRO, a four-channel club mixer designed for Serato DJ. It has dedicated pads for cue, loop, and sample controls, and two USB ports for easy DJ changeovers.

– Two microphone inputs
– Dedicated four high-quality effects for each channel with a single knob
– Completely MIDI mappable
– 24-bit digital output
– Rugged metal construction
– Auto loop encoder
– Sampler switch
– Dedicated sampler volume
– Effects send/return

QUATTRO

The second product is the PRIMO, the company’s first foray into the world of controllers. Also designed for Serato DJ, the PRIMO is a two-channel controller that supports the software’s DVS upgrade and features onboard filter, noise, gate and crush FX in either controller or standalone mixer mode.

– Performance Pads with hot cues, roll, slicer, sampler
– Sturdy build quality with brushed aluminum face plate
– Built-in sound card for simple USB connectivity
– 100mm pitch control
– USB powered
– Large aluminum jog wheels with on-jog display and LED ring
– Crossfader curve adjustment and reverse
– Touch needle search strip
– High-quality audio sound card
– Plug and play with Serato DJ

PRIMO

The QUATTRO has a suggested price of $1,499, with the PRIMO coming in at a very competitive $599. Both units will be available this spring, and we’ll be taking a closer look at them on location at NAMM later this week.

Upstart DJ equipment maker Mixars hit the scene last spring with their Serato DJ-enabled DUO mixer. But the DUO isn’t the only product that they sell. The Italy-based company also offers two scratch turntables: the straight-arm LTA and the s-arm STA.

Big Wiz Gives Demo of Mixars DUO Mixer

DJ Big Wiz​, the co-designer of Rane’s groundbreaking TTM 54 mixer, has provided an in-depth demonstration of Mixars​’ DUO mixer for DJcityTV.

The DUO, which was released last spring, is a two-channel battle mixer designed for Serato DJ. It retails for $1,000, making it an affordable alternative to Rane’s Sixty-Two and Pioneer DJ’s DJM-S9.

Earlier this month, DJcityTV’s Mojaxx provided an in-depth review of the new Mixars DUO mixer. Today, DJcityTV has returned with a video of Battle Ave‘s Ichy the Killer and Bakon One​ putting the DUO to the test. Both DJs are experienced turntablists, with Ichy having won the DMC San Francisco Championship in 2014.
