BBC Radio 1 Search for Christmas Presenter
Anyone with radio experience is being invited to send their demos to BBC Radio 1 with a chance of appearing on their Christmas schedule. From Boxing Day until New Year’s Eve, Radio 1 wants to showcase the best in new and emerging talent and offer a once in a lifetime opportunity to broadcast nationally with them.
The station is looking for those who know their way around a radio desk and have previous radio experience, be it in community, hospital, student or local radio.
Aspiring presenters can submit their demos via the Radio 1 website with submissions closing midnight on Sunday 27th October.
All applicants must be 18 or over and have prior radio experience.

Charlie Sloth Leaves BBC for Apple Music

Charlie Sloth, one of the leading hip-hop radio DJs in the UK, has announced that he’s leaving BBC Radio for Apple Music.
Sloth, who has been with the network for a decade, has hosted shows on Radio 1 and 1Xtra. His rap freestyle segment “Fire in the Booth” is globally renowned. The segment has featured appearances from Drake, Stormzy, Big Shaq, and many more.
It hasn’t been revealed what his role at Apple Music will be, but there is speculation that he will be hosting a new show on Beats 1 and contributing to the platform’s playlists.
Sloth isn’t the only BBC host to leave for Apple Music. In 2015, Zane Lowe departed the network to launch a show on Beats 1.

Watch Charlie Sloth’s Live Set at 1Xtra’s Takeover in Ibiza
Last weekend seen the BBC on the lively Balearic island of Ibiza. UK’s recognised urban DJ, Charlie Sloth dropped a live set at the BBC Radio 1Xtra Takeover at Ibiza Rocks.
He dropped a half-hour DJ set consisting of UK and US hip hop, afrobeats, and a selection of throwbacks.

iLL BLU Drop a ‘Tribal Manifestation’ Mini Mix for Radio 1
Two friends from North West London, Def 1 and Jreel form the funky production duo iLL BLU. Last night they dropped an exclusive mini mix for Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1. Their “Tribal Manifestation” mix features a selection of infectious new and classic club bangers. Check out their mix above.
Their new track “Tribalist (Get To Know)” featuring Glowie is now available to download on DJcity UK.

The rapper performed “Family Feud” from 4:44 and his classic collaboration with Linkin Park, “Numb/Encore.” Hov was joined by his longtime engineer, Young Guru.

Watch Ed Sheeran Perform ‘Shape of You’ on BBC Radio 1
On Tuesday, Ed Sheeran stopped by BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge to perform his latest hit single, “Shape of You.” The British singer-songwriter has been making his rounds as he gears up to release his third studio album, Divide, in March.
The track, which was DJcity’s most downloaded of January, currently sits atop Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for its fourth total week.
MistaJam Drops Classic House Mix for BBC Radio 1’s ‘Ibiza Weekend’
On Saturday, BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra host MistaJam put down a three-hour mix for BBC Radio 1’s annual Ibiza Weekend event at Cafe Mambo.
