DJcity Adds New Features to Improve Music Discovery
DJcity has added two new features to its website to improve music discovery.
The genre tags on the track detail pages are now clickable, making it easier to find similar sounding songs. Users can also now see the current top tracks in other regions by clicking the arrow on the DJcity Exclusives chart on the right side of the website.
In addition to those updates, DJcity has also:
– Redesigned the iPhone and Android apps
– Added a Crate feature
– Updated the track rating system
– Added new Spanish and German language websites

Enter to Win a Laptop and Trip to Berlin’s Sample Music Festival
Gear Porn is a new weekly live stream that tackles technical questions related to DJing, VJing, and live performing. It is hosted by Ray a.k.a. Arkaei, a Polish artist who has written articles for DJWORX.
To kick off the live stream, Gear Porn has launched a competition to win a high-performance laptop and a trip to the Sample Music Festival in Berlin.
How to enter the “20 Bars of Awesome” contest:
– Film a video of yourself performing a routine that is 20 bars long (two-bar intro, two-bar outro, and 16 bars in between).
– Use software that runs on a laptop. The winner will have to use the laptop that they win during the second part of the battle, which will take place at the Sample Music Festival between August 16 and 18.
– Send your video to gimme@gear.porn by June 6, 2019.

Doc Jnr Wins ‘Move’ DJ Competition

Jerome Baker III, a DJ based out of Washington, D.C., talks about regional club music and more on this week’s episode of Reflections of a DJ a.k.a. R.O.A.D. Podcast.
In addition to a long career in nightlife, Baker runs Rock Creek Social Club, a creative agency that also hosts a monthly day party. He is involved in the local Broccoli City music festival, and has performed for the Washington Wizards and Washington Redskins.
In the interview, Baker and the crew also discuss his upbringing in Arizona, his own podcast, and DJing with Phase.
