Robin Roij & Da Phonk Remix Akon’s ‘Right Now (Na Na Na)’: DJcity Premiere

Dutch DJs/producers Robin Roij and Da Phonk team up to release a new remix of Akon‘s “Right Now (Na Na Na).” The original is the lead single from Akon’s third studio album, Freedom.

Regarding the remix, the duo says, “We both loved this song so much, but could never play it with the energy we wanted. So we decided to create a remix of it that would fit our sets. It was a joy to collab again and flip this classic into a banger!”

Dutch DJs/producers Da Phonk and Robin Roij have teamed up once again, this time on a remix of the soca classic “Tempted To Touch” by Rupee. The Barbadian singer’s 2004 track was an international hit, making its way onto both the Billboard Hot 100 and UK Singles charts.

“We always love playing this classic tune in our sets,” the duo noted. “So we both thought it’s time for a 2021 version with a heavy buildup towards a banging drop.”

Dutch DJ/producer Robin Roij has delivered a modern refresh of Beenie Man and Ms. Thing‘s 2004 hit “Dude,” available exclusively on DJcity. Upon its release, “Dude” reached the top ten in the UK and the top 40 in both the US and Italy. Roij’s remix gives the dancehall classic a more current moombahton feel while retaining the energy of the original.

“I always played the original ‘Dude’ from Beenie Man,” Roij says. “I love it! I tried to create a whole new vibe around it so it will fit in the 2021 sets even more.”

British artist Estelle‘s 2009 breakout hit “American Boy” has received the moombahton remix treatment from Dutch DJs/producers Robin Roij and Jacka. The bass-boosted and drum-laden remix has a decidedly electro-leaning flavor.

“Drums are important in my tracks; they control the vibe,” Roij says. “This 2020 version of American Boy has a lot of it. Combined with Jacka’s Rotterdam sound, we created a really nasty track for the clubs!”

Dutch DJ/producer Robin Roij is back with a remix of Rihanna‘s 2007 smash hit “Umbrella.” The original track topped charts around the world, including a seven-week run at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100. It also earned the artist a Grammy award for “Best Rap/Sung Collaboration” alongside featured artist JAY-Z.

Roij is no stranger to DJcity’s Top 50 chart. His remix of Blackstreet‘s “No Diggity” was one of the most downloaded tracks of February. His moombahton flip of Terror Squad, Fat Joe, & Remy Ma‘s “Lean Back” was the 18th-most downloaded track of October 2018, and peaked at No. 7 on DJcity’s Hot Box chart.
