Junior Sanchez Drops House Remix of Drake and Michael Jackson’s ‘Don’t Matter To Me’: DJcity Premiere

Veteran house DJ/producer Junior Sanchez has remixed Drake and Michael Jackson‘s posthumous collab, “Don’t Matter To Me.” The track, which appears on Drizzy’s new Scorpion album, is currently No. 3 on DJcity.

Sanchez has remixed for a wide variety of artists throughout the years, including Madonna, Shakira, Daft Punk, Gorillaz, Giorgio Moroder, and New Order. He recently reunited with his group The Smen, a collaboration with house legends Roger Sanchez and DJ Sneak.

Dopey Honors Michael Jackson’s Passing with Live Remix


 
Today is the sixth anniversary of Michael Jackson’s passing and many people are showing their respect. So far, one of the standout tributes has been from Toronto turntablist, Dopey.
 
Earlier today, the former DMC World Champion posted a video of himself live remixing MJ’s “Rock With You.” The song is one of the few from its era that still gets played in top 40 clubs.
 
Dopey included the following message with the video:
 

“Michael Jackson has been a staple in my household for as long as I can remember. His unfortunate passing back on this day in 2009, sent shock-waves through the music industry and fans alike. This is my live ‘re-fix’ of his timeless track ‘Rock With You’.”

 
Dopey’s routine makes use of two Technics turntables along with a Native Instruments Z2 mixer, and Maschine controller.

New Michael Jackson Album Announced


Epic Records and Michael Jackson’s estate have announced that a new album titled “Xscape” featuring previously unreleased tracks will be released on May 13.

The 8-track collection was executive produced by L.A. Reid and features production from Timbaland and his long-time collaborator, ,Jerome “Jroc” Harmon along with Stargate, Rodney Jerkins, and John McClain.

“Michael left behind some musical performances that we take great pride in presenting through the vision of music producers that he either worked directly with or expressed strong desire to work with.” – L.A. Reid
