Bad Bunny encourages people to know their worth in the video for his Latin trap song, “Caro.” The track, which translates to “expensive,” peaked at No. 24 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart.

“Caro” appears on Bad Bunny’s debut album, X 100pre. The project debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart, where it has remained for four straight weeks. It currently sits at No. 11 on the Billboard 200.

Latin Album Popularity Has Surpassed Country Music for the First Time

Latin album consumption in the US surpassed country music in 2018, according to data company BuzzAngle Music. The genre hit 9.4 percent of total album plays in the US, up from 7.5 percent in 2017.

These numbers made Latin the fifth-most consumed album by genre, taking the spot previously held by country. Ozuna took the top two spots for most plays in 2018, for his albums Odisea and Aura respectively.

Latin song consumption also increased in 2018, going from 9.5 percent to 10.8 percent. Cardi B‘s “I Like It” featuring Bad Bunny and J Balvin was the number one most played track, followed by Balvin and Willy William‘s “Mi Gente.”

Ozuna Drops New Single, ‘Baila Baila Baila’

Ozuna has dropped a surprise reggaeton single titled “Baila Baila Baila.” Produced by DJ Luian, Mambo Kingz, and Hydro, the track will appear on Ozuna’s forthcoming third studio album, Nibiru.

The Puerto Rican superstar also shared an accompanying video. In the visual, which is set in a post-apocalyptic world, Ozuna finds a group of female survivors and gets them to dance with him in a beautiful white oasis.

“Baila Baila Baila” follows Ozuna’s single “Luz Apaga” featuring Lyanno.

Dutch DJ/producer Silence has delivered an upbeat, Latin house remix of Ricky Martin‘s 1995 hit single, “María.” His version maintains some of the original vocals while adding a tribal and Dutch house-influenced drop.

“María” appeared on Ricky Martin’s third studio album, A Medio Vivir. The track peaked at No. 6 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart and made the top 10 in over a dozen other countries.

Silence’s version follows his remix of the Fugees‘ “Ready Or Not,” which was one of the most downloaded tracks of November on DJcity.
