On the first episode, Mayeda transforms Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj‘s reggae-infused smash “Side to Side” into a future bass groover.

R. City, the duo known for their summer hit “Locked Away” featuring Adam Levine, have recently covered Major Lazer’s “Lean On” for BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge. The Virgin Islands brothers blended a few verses of their own tracks in the rendition, making it just as impressive as the original.
 
Major Lazer and DJ Snake’s “Lean On” featuring MØ, is currently number 11 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and number 14 on Shazam’s USA Top 100 Popular Songs chart.

Watch This Violin Duo Cover Kanye West’s ‘All Day’


 
Hip-hop and classical musicians Black Violin have released a video of them covering Kanye West’s single “All Day.” The group, which is composed of violinist Kev Marcus and violist Wil B., are joined by drummer Nathaniel Stokes and DJ SPS.
 
The duo’s distinctive style has been recognized by some of the industry’s biggest artists. Most notably, Black Violin performed with Alicia Keys at the 2004 Billboard Awards. They have also worked with Kanye West, Tom Petty, Lupe Fiasco, Aerosmith, among others. Watch the impressive video above.

Disclosure and Sam Smith recently covered Drake’s “Hotline Bling” in BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge. The rendition was quite a bit different from the original but just as dope. Watch above and grab Drizzy’s version and Disclosure and Sam Smith’s single “Omen” on DJcity.
 
Drake’s “Hotline Bling” was the 24th most downloaded track on DJcity in August. It samples Timmy Thomas’ 1972 soul classic, “Why Can’t We Live Together.”

Watch Krept & Konan Cover ‘Mo Money Mo Problems’ with Live Band


 
Rising hip-hop duo Krept & Konan stopped by BBC Radio 1Xtra this week and covered The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Mo Money Mo Problems” with a live band.
 
Though they’ve been a group since 2009, it wasn’t until their Jeremih-assisted single “Freak of the Week” that the London rappers really took off. The dancehall-influenced song, which features production from DJ Mustard, was the second most-downloaded track in May on DJcity, and in June they signed a deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing UK.
