Legendary disco producer Giorgio Moroder has announced that he will go on his first live performance tour in 2019. The 78-year-old is best known in the DJ world for his 2013 collaboration with Daft Punk.
Moroder, who has performed DJ sets in recent years, will play piano, synths, and vocoder alongside a live band and vocalists.
“It is something I have always wanted to do … Back in the days it was unthinkable for producers to ever leave their studios. That territory was reserved for the singers. Today, DJs and music producers have become the superstars of popular dance music, so the time feels right.”
Moroder is considered one of the pioneers of disco and dance music. He has worked with stars like Donna Summer, David Bowie, and Janet Jackson, accumulating over 100 gold and platinum records. Moroder was inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame in 2004.
So far, Moroder has confirmed 15 dates throughout Europe starting in April.

While this is their first time working together, both DJs are veterans of the battle scene. Brace is a three-time DMC world champion and Asian Hawk has claimed five UK DMC titles.
With only twelve hours to put together a routine, the duo created a soulful, R&B-tinged song. Asian Hawk combined singing and finger drumming, while Brace played a melody by scratching with the Fretless Fader.
