Da Odd Couple perform on the “MikiDz Show”
Renowned turntablists Rob Swift and Mista Sinista, also known as Da Odd Couple, threw down an energetic four-deck set on the MikiDz Show on Monday. They flexed their skills in a set full of classic east coast hip-hop.
The DJs started out in the battle scene in the early ’90s as members of the X-Men (later known as the X-Ecutioners). Swift and Sinista reunited after 17 years to keep the art of turntablism alive through their live performances and a self-tited EP released on A-Trak‘s Fool’s Gold label.

‘MikiDz Show’ Hosts Spirited Discussion With ‘R.O.A.D. Podcast’
The R.O.A.D. Podcast celebrated its 100th episode live on the MikiDz Show on Monday. It featured the MikiDz and R.O.A.D. hosts, along with guest DJs Roctakon, Graham Funke, StoneRokk, and Scooter. (Moma filled in for R.O.A.D.‘s D-Miles, who was chilling in Aruba).
The live stream began with a discussion on the hottest club tracks of the summer. The crew analyzed the impact of hits like “Hot Girl Summer,” “Act Up,” “My Type,” “Truth Hurts,” and “Drogba (Joanna).”
The discussion then turned to a more serious topic: the decline in pay for DJs (1:26:00 mark). The crew discussed why they believe rates have gone down and how to deal with it. Audience members Jayceeoh, Bella Fiasco, Lady Sha, and Nitrane joined the convo.
With the passions flowing, the crew wrapped up the show with an East Coast vs. West Coast DJ debate (2:07:40). The discussion got a bit heated, though both sides made good points.
