Boom City has been expanding on its Inside Turntablists mini-documentaries with the Boom City Jam Session series. The series feature roundtable-style sessions with some of the best scratchers from around the globe.

The second episode features SWIFTSTYLE, Djackulate, FSO, DJ Manipulate, Dooban, Perez, El Statiko, Pan Jaras, Lone Wolf, Cesare Giulio, DJ Crypt, and DJ Perly. The crew cuts it up over a beat from Kodac Visualz.

British creative collective Boom City has delivered another episode of their documentary series, Inside Turntablists. This episode features DJ Woody, a UK-based DJ and producer. He’s a former ITF and Vestax World Champion and currently runs his own label, Woodwurk Records.

In the episode, DJ Woody discusses his history with hip-hop culture, the invention of the Woodpecker scratch, as well as his involvement with the Vestax Controller One — the world’s first-ever musical turntable instrument.

British creative collective Boom City, of the Inside Turntablists documentary series, has created a spinoff to highlight more talent within the global scratch community.

Boom City Jam Session Vol. 1 features a “Q&A”-style scratch session with turntablists Alx Plato, Kompoze, DJ SWORDZ, Redmist, Blam, Symatic, Peter Parker, Jimmy Penguin, Android, Kutclass, DJ Robert Smith, Kodac Visualz, Kubik, DubbaDutch, and Bakon One. The crew cuts over an instrumental by Oslo Flow‘s Alx Plato.

British creative collective Boom City is back with a new episode of their documentary series, Inside Turntablists. This episode features Jimmy Penguin, an Irish turntablist and producer. He’s one of the co-founders of Galway’s Community Skratch collective and also runs the Alkalinear Recordings label.

In the episode, Penguin discusses how he’s inspired by more progressive records, like those by English musician Aphex Twin. He also highlights his deceptively simple techniques, plus how he’s successfully built both his career and the musical community that surrounds his work.

British creative collective Boom City has released the latest episode of their documentary series, Inside Turntablists. This episode features Fong Fong, a French turntablist and the 2012 DMC Online World Champion.

In the episode, the veteran DJ tells the story of how he got his start, the origin of his name, and his other passion, video games. In addition to battling, he also regularly updates his YouTube channel with new routines and product reviews.

Norwegian scratch trio, Olso Flow, were featured for the second episode of Boom City‘s Inside Turntablists documentary series.

The trio, which consists of turntablists Android, Blam, and Plato, reflect on how the group got together and discuss the current state of turntablism.
