Annalyze is originally from Rochester, New York, and is now living in Los Angeles. She’s currently a resident at the Fannypack party and has previously served as the tour DJ for DJ Quik and Lady Sovereign.

Denon DJ Adds Streaming And More To Prime Series Hardware With 1.4 Update

Today, Denon DJ released the new 1.4 firmware update for their Prime Series family of hardware. This version finalizes some features which have been teased or in beta for some time, and also brings a few unseen features to the table. Highlights include:

Tidal Integration Via Wi-Fi And Wired Connections
Users can now stream music directly to Prime Series hardware from the first of Denon DJ’s streaming partners, Tidal.

Track Preview From Library
On the SC5000 and SC5000M players, users now have the ability to preview a track directly from the library display, without having to load the track.

New Zoneplay Feature For The Zone Output
Prime 4 users will find a significantly improved Zone Output with the new Zoneplay feature. This allows the DJ to send a playlist to a seperate zone or room with a smooth automated crossfade between tracks, and the crossfade time is adjustable.

Expanded Track List (PRIME 4)
In v1.4, PRIME 4 users have the ability to choose between normal or exapnded track list views, with the expanded list nearly doubling the amount of displayed tracks.

Loop In & Out Point Adjustment
DJs can now fine adjust the in and out points of both manual and autoloops using the platter.

In addition, the 1.4 update also brings the following enhancements:

Improved quantized cue and loop triggering
Improved search speed for high volume drives
Forward and backward platter nidge sensitivity is now matched
Quantize state is saved on shutdown and recalled on power-up
Rekordbox import on players now imports playlists in the correct order

Below is DJcity’s annual chart of the top 50 most downloaded songs of the year. The list was determined by subscriber downloads (the tracks are not DJcity’s picks).

After having a comeback year in 2018, Tyga is DJcity’s most downloaded artist in 2019, with 11 tracks on the chart. Tying in second place with five apiece are Cardi B and J Balvin, while Tory Lanez got third with four songs.

DJcity Records Releases Free New Year’s Eve DJ Tools Pack

DJcity Records has released a collection of DJ tools for New Year’s Eve sets. The pack includes group and single-voice countdowns in English and Spanish along with hype vocals and tracks that incorporate the NYE classic “Auld Lang Syne.” The fully-produced countdowns can be dropped 30 seconds prior to midnight giving DJs 20 seconds to talk to the crowd before the countdown begins.
