On the latest installment of the R.O.A.D. Podcast, the crew was joined by guest co-host DJ Eddie Mcdonald to interview New York’s very own DJ Mell Starr. In the episode, the New York icon discussed Harlem’s exclusive DJ scene and culture.

Mell Starr also explained why uptown DJs like DJ Boogie Blind choose not to share Harlem club anthems with DJs outside of the community.

D’Maduro Remixes Ester Dean’s ‘Drop It Low’: DJcity Exclusive

Dutch DJ/producer D’Maduro is back with another DJcity exclusive remix. This time, he’s taken Ester Dean‘s 2009 trap-pop single “Drop It Low,” drenched it in dirty Dutch drums and created an energetic floor-filler.

The single cracked the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2009. “Drop It Low’s” infectious, snapping energy and remixes featuring the likes of Lil WayneTrey Songz, and Diddy has allowed it to remain a go-to club track for a decade. Now, D’Maduro’s remix speeds it up to the range of modern dembow-driven pop and reggaeton, breathing new life into the track.

DJ Zo Talks Performing in Asia at Beginning of Coronavirus, Serato Library Management on ‘The 20 Podcast’

DJcity and Beatsource to Host Direct Relief Fundraiser Live Stream

DJcity and Beatsource will be hosting an 8-hour live stream party this Saturday, April 11 to raise funds for those on the COVID-19 frontlines.

Rane SEVENTY Mixer Released, Officially Supported in Serato DJ Pro 2.3.4

Rane and Serato have announced that the SEVENTY mixer has been released and is officially supported in the latest version of Serato DJ Pro. The two-channel battle mixer unlocks Serato DJ Pro 2.3.4 along with Serato DVS. Its 16 RGB performance pads can be used to control a range of Serato DJ Pro pad modes and has configurable quick-access buttons for sync, silent cue, and more.

Serato Chief Strategy Officer Nick Maclaren says, “It’s an incredible new mixer with an impressive, refined feature set. It has such a wide variety of capabilities that are suited to so many different DJing styles. The fact it can unlock our latest version of Serato DJ Pro and well as Serato DVS is also a big plus. I can’t wait to see people using it online.”
