‘R.O.A.D. Podcast’: Inspiration vs Biting
On this week’s episode of the R.O.A.D. Podcast, the crew spoke to Boogie Blind of the X-Ecutioners regarding the accusations made against Ted Smooth for stealing blends and remixes from other producers like Scram Jones, DJ Mell Starr, as well as Boogie Blind himself.
The Harlem native broke down the history of the “Love On Top X Keezo Kane Blend,” which was originally performed live by DJ Mell Starr at numerous parties and then released as a remix by Ted Smooth.

‘R.O.A.D. Podcast’: DJ Mell Starr Describes the Exclusive DJ Scene in Harlem
On the latest installment of the R.O.A.D. Podcast, the crew was joined by guest co-host DJ Eddie Mcdonald to interview New York’s very own DJ Mell Starr. In the episode, the New York icon discussed Harlem’s exclusive DJ scene and culture.
Mell Starr also explained why uptown DJs like DJ Boogie Blind choose not to share Harlem club anthems with DJs outside of the community.

Boogie Blind, a member of the X-Ecuctioners and Heavy Hitters crews, sat down with the R.O.A.D. Podcast this week. The veteran turntablist and party rocker remembered his former crew member, the late and great Roc Raida.

DJ Boogie Blind, a member of the influential X-Ecutioners crew, has been featured on Funkmaster Flex’s “5 Minutes of Funk” segment for Hot 97.
The Harlem turntablist showed off his skills in a 15-minute routine that used mostly classic hip-hop tracks and breakbeats.
