NAMM 2018 Recap: The Most Important DJ News

As you probably saw on your social media feeds, the annual NAMM Show went down in California this past weekend.

Most of the big companies announced their new products before the convention, but there were still some notable products unveiled. They include an update to Ortofon’s Concorde line of cartridges and new budget monitors from ADAM Audio. The show also provided a chance for DJs to demo Rane’s Seventy-Two mixer and Twelve controller.

The biggest story of the weekend was an innovative product called Phase, a wireless device that bypasses a turntable’s internal audio and eliminates the need for a cartridge. It was only in prototype form, and there are plenty of questions about its viability, but the device impressed a lot of DJs.
