Win a Pair of Ortofon VNL Cartridges by Recreating DJ ND’s Flare & Tear Combo
In a special episode of Made From Scratch, DJ ND demonstrates a scratch pattern that could win you a pair of Ortofon’s new VNL cartridges.
If you’ve got what it takes to recreate this flare and tear combo, film yourself performing it over a beat and upload the video to Instagram. Tag @djcity and @ortofon_dj and use hashtag #MadeFromScratchVNLContest. Entries may be submitted until Wednesday, December 16, and one winner will be announced in the following episode of Made From Scratch.

Japanese Turntablist YB Shares Scratch Technique Using Tempo Slider
Red Bull 3Style IX Japan finalist YB has delivered a tutorial for DJcityTV showcasing a unique scratch technique. The turntablist developed a way to scratch using the tempo slider and transform effect found on Pioneer DJ equipment. According to Pioneer DJ, he is the first to perform the technique.
YB is known for pushing the boundaries of what can be done on a pair of CDJs. In adition to competing in the 3Style, the accomplished battle DJ was also a finalist in the 2018 Goldie Awards.
