DJ Carlo Atendido Live Remixes The Chainsmokers’ ‘Roses’


 
DJ Carlo Atendido, the runner-up of the 2014 Red Bull Thre3style World Finals, has shared a video of himself live remixing The Chainsmokers‘ hit single, “Roses.” The laidback yet catchy track is currently number eight on Billboard’s Hot 100, beating their 2014 viral anthem, “#SELFIE,” which peaked at 16. The Chainsmokers’ have released visuals for “Kanye” — their follow-up single to “#SELFIE” that debuted earlier this month. Unlike many EDM music videos, this one has a unique storyline and doesn’t rely on cliches.
 
As of today, “Kanye” has received over one million SoundCloud plays.

The Chainsmokers Drop New Track ‘Polkadots’

Following the release of their latest single “Kanye” earlier this month, The Chainsmokers have returned with a new track which is packed with energy and ready for the big room. The duo told us that up until now, Martin Garrix was the only one who had “Polkadots” and that he’s been playing it in most of his sets.
 
Here’s what they told DJMag about the track:
 
“So we made this track about 6 months ago and have been playing it every set of ours since. Its a big room fun energetic song that is perfect for any dance set. Obviously its not our traditional vocal indie style but we like to get weird and do that whole put your hands up thing too, is that such a crime… Plus whatever its free so if you dont like it dont listen to it! But we wanted to put something out for free and we get tons of messages about this song and when we will release it, so…wonder no more!”

The Chainsmokers have followed up their breakout hit “#Selfie” with a new single titled “Kanye” and DJcity has the exclusive extended version of the track.
 
The duo told DJcity that the song isn’t “meant to be a joke or a shot at Kanye,” rather, it’s about his attitude towards life:
 

“Love Kanye or hate him — the guy does what he wants. So this song is about doing just that: yourself. It doesn’t matter if you’re driving a sh#t car or a Bentley: if you’re happy with yourself and feel like you’re killing it — that’s all that matters. It’s about not giving a f#ck and living life as you see it and no one does that better than ‘Ye.”

The Chainsmokers to Host Weekly SiriusXM Show

The Chainsmokers
Following the success of their breakout hit “#SELFIE” and two seven-figure deals, American DJ duo The Chainsmokers are now set to host a weekly show on SiriusXM.
 
“Nice Hair,” which was announced today by SiriusXM, will feature world premieres of new music, mixes, and interviews with other artists — “all fueled by the unpredictable personalities and wild antics of The Chainsmokers, Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall,” the press release says.
 

“We have always been quite opinionated when it comes to pretty much everything in life, so to have a channel to express ourselves and share music we think needs to be heard, is something we are very excited about. With that in mind, are they crazy giving us our own show!” – The Chainsmokers

“Nice Hair” premieres Monday, August, 18 at 10pm ET on SiriusXM’s Electric Area.

The Chainsmokers Sign Seven-Figure Deals


Billboard is reporting that The Chainsmokers have inked publishing and label deals with Sony/ATV and Republic, respectively, each for over $1 million.
 
As of today, their single “#Selfie” has been downloaded over 726,000 times (according to Nielsen SoundScan), peaking at #16 on the Billboard Hot 100, and has been viewed on YouTube nearly 100 million times.
 
According to Sony/ATV’s chairman/CEO Martin Bandier, the DJ duo had been on the company’s radar for months before “#Selfie” was released:
 

“We were already in talks but this added whipped cream to the cake . . . It made us add a little more money to the deal. I do mean a little.”

 
The New York-based DJ/producers dropped a series of successful remixes over the last year and were gaining momentum before “#Selfie” was released. Ironically, the track was created as a joke in “literally an hour,” the duo’s manager Adam Alpert told Billboard.
