German DJ/producer Richastic‘s latest remix is a bouncy flip of Tweet‘s 2002 hit “Call Me.” The Timbaland-produced track was a top-10 Billboard Hip-Hop Chart single.

Richastic’s Latin-flavored house chops are showcased in the production, while the remix is built largely around the flute sample that gave the original its distinct flair.

I stumbled across the classic when I sorted my Serato crates,” Richastic notes. The flute caught me, I always loved the song. From then on, I knew I had to remix it.”

Dutch duo Da Phonk and Rogerson‘s latest remix is a funky take on Jason Derulo‘s horn-heavy 2013 hit “Talk Dirty.” The duo’s latest DJcity exclusive remix maintains the groove of the original track while adding some fun moombahton flavor to the mix.

“We gave this classic banger a pumping 2020 touch with some fresh moombahton percussions, [and] groovy basslines!” the duo says. “Going back and forth on what was best for the track, we decided to keep a bit of the original beats just after the intro and create a heavy build-up towards a massive drop.” Rogerson continues, “We felt [like] keeping that original renowned saxophone melody and chopping it up a bit so the drop would really drive the energy at a higher level.”

Rogerson Remixes Luniz’s ‘I Got 5 On It’: DJcity Exclusive

Dutch DJ/producer Rogerson has returned with another remix exclusive for DJcity. Bay area rap duo Luniz‘s iconic 1995 hit “I Got 5 On It” gets a high-energy reworking, with the soulful hook providing the emotion for this peak-hour house banger.

“I Got 5 On It” was Luniz’ biggest song. The smoker’s anthem was a platinum-seller, plus a top-ten single on pop charts worldwide.

“As I came across this acapella, I knew exactly what type of sound would fit with this remix,” Rogerson says. “I took the original chords and made a bassline that would match with the spooky theme I was going for. As everyone recognizes the chorus, I only used that part of the vocal in the track.”

ETX and Fresco Remix Los Angeles Azules’ ‘Como Te Voy A Olvidar’: DJcity Exclusive

ETX. (Source: Instagram)

Texas-based DJs/producers ETX and Fresco have reunited for another remix exclusively on DJcity. This time around, the duo flips Los Angeles Azules’ 1996 cumbia hit “Como Te Voy A Olvidar.”

The band, which has been active since the 1980s, made its Billboard chart debut with the release of “Como Te Voy A Olvidar.” The track hit No. 5 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Songs chart and No. 7 on both the Hot Latin Songs and Latin Airplay charts.

“My sets consist of a lot of Latin vibes and ‘Como Te Voy A Olvidar’ has always been a fixture in them,” Fresco says. “We wanted to elevate the momentum of the track so it can be dropped along with higher energy tracks.”

ETX continues, “The crowd response as soon as the accordion intro drops… is always exciting. We felt going with that accordion intro riff and chopping it up as a lead would really drive the energy at a higher BPM.”
