Watch: Nardwuar Interviews Cardi B
During the Coachella festival in California this past weekend, Nardwuar caught up with Cardi B for an unsurprisingly weird interview.
The Bronx rapper, whose debut album Invasion of Privacy has broken records, was not fazed by Nardwuar’s personality. However, at one point, she declined to answer one of his questions, saying, “I’m going to have a child, so I can’t tell that story anymore.”
Released on April 6, Invasion of Privacy will debut at No. 1 on Billboard 200 albums chart on Tuesday, making her the fifth female rapper to top the chart. (She follows Nicki Minaj, Eve, Foxy Brown, and Lauryn Hill.) The project also had the biggest streaming week for a debut studio album, passing Lil Uzi Vert‘s Luv Is Rage 2.
In terms of support from DJs, Cardi currently has five tracks on DJcity’s Hot Box chart.

Sonny Digital Interviewed by Nardwuar
Nardwuar went hard at SXSW. The legendary interviewer spoke with a bunch of artists, including Snoop Dogg (his ninth interview with the rapper), Desiigner, Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, and Nirvana’s Krist Novoselic. However, one of the standouts was an interview with renowned hip-hop producer, Sonny Digital.
A native of Atlanta, Sonny’s most popular productions include hits like ILoveMakonnen‘s “Tuesday,” 2 Chainz‘s “Birthday Song,” Future‘s “Same Damn Time,” and YC’s “Racks.”

Nardwuar Interviews Vince Staples
Legendary Canadian interviewer Nardwuar has dropped his first interview of 2017. This time, he caught up with outspoken Long Beach rapper, Vince Staples, who recently made a stop in Vancouver for his Life Aquatic Tour.
In classic Nardwuar style, Staples fielded a barrage of unusual yet hilarious questions. Topics covered include the time he nearly drowned as a kid, his frequent collaborator, No I.D., Snoop Dogg, and why the old style of gangbanging is out. He also touched on little-known facts about his life, including his love of Joy Division and Microsoft Encarta. As always, Nardwuar brought along some gifts.
Staples released his latest single, “BagBak,” in February. The track is slated to appear on his next album.

Drake and Noah ’40’ Shebib Interviewed by Nardwuar
Drake‘s new album Views was arguably the most anticipated release of the year, so it only makes sense that he’d catch up with Nardwuar for an epic chat.
However, unlike the majority of Nardwuar’s interviews, this one lasts for over an hour and features Drizzy’s longtime partner, Noah “40” Shebib.
The topics discussed include Drake’s appreciation for Timmy Thomas, the soul singer that was sampled on “Hotline Bling,” Drake and 40’s love for dancehall, artists that influenced them, plus much more.

Nardwuar Interviews Metro Boomin
Following his hilarious conversation with DJ Khaled, Nardwuar is back with another key interview from SXSW. This time, the Canadian spoke with one of the today’s most sought-after hip-hop producers, Metro Boomin.
The 22-year-old producer/DJ discussed co-producing Kanye West’s “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1,” classic Atlanta and St. Louis hip-hop artists, Drumma Boy‘s influence on today’s hip-hop, and more. “Young Metro” also revealed that he’s going to collaborate with Organized Noize’s Sleepy Brown in the future.
