Following his remix of “Bum Bum Tam Tam” with Diplo, MAKJ has returned with a moombahton rework of Joe Budden‘s 2003 anthem, “Pump It Up.”

Produced by Just Blaze, “Pump It Up” peaked at No. 38 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It is Budden’s most commercially successful single and is considered by some to be one of Blaze’s best productions.

MAK’s remix gives energy to an already energetic track, adding build-ups and flute-laden drops.

“‘Pump It Up’ was one of my favorite songs to play when I first started DJing,” MAK tells us. “I’m stoked to bring back this classic song!”

MAKJ has teamed with Diplo for a high-energy remix of MC Fioti‘s baile funk hit, “Bum Bum Tam Tam.”

The original track, which currently has 590 million YouTube views, turned into an international anthem when Future, J Balvin, Stefflon Don, and Juan Magan hopped on it. Now, MAK and Dip have flipped it upside down and inside out, adding Melbourne bounce and trap drops.

“Diplo has been a huge influence in my sets, so being able to work on this remix with him has been definitely a career highlight,” MAK tells us.

MAKJ has an excellent track record on DJcity. The majority of his releases have made the daily Hot Box chart, many of which have also appeared on the monthly Top 50.

His latest offering, a throwback-style remix of Joan Jett’s 1982 anthem, “I Love Rock ‘N’ Roll,” is likely to do the same. The track features moombahton and twerk influences and a prominent Jay-Z sample.

“I love the idea of blending genres,” MAK tells us. “I’ve always done it in my sets, and I wanted to make something I could play live, hence the idea of mixing Joan Jett with Jay-Z. They say opposites attract.”

Following his popular remix of Rae Sremmurd‘s “Black Beatles,” MAKJ has returned with another dubstep-influenced rework.

This time, the California DJ/producer has flipped Fatman Scoop and the Crooklyn Clan’s timeless party starter, “Be Faithful.” The hard-hitting remix has already received support from heavyweights like Diplo, Lil Jon, and NGHTMRE.

“I’ve been playing [the original] record for years now, but having a remix that’s club-friendly and also saves you from an awkward dance floor is essential,” MAK told us.

Though he’s best known for producing electro house anthems, MAKJ is a versatile DJ and producer. Last year, the Californian proved it with a deep house track called “On & On.”

Today, MAK has shown his versatility again with a dubstep-influenced remix of Rae Sremmurd‘s “Black Beatles.” The new version is a complete makeover of the original Mike Will Made It-produced track, which just hit number one on Billboard’s Hot 100.
