Major Lazer & DJ Snake Drop ‘Lean On’ Video Featuring MØ


 
Major Lazer and DJ Snake have dropped a music video for their new single, “Lean On.” The moombahton-influenced track features Danish singer MØ (from Iggy Azalea’s “Beg For It”) and has been in DJcity’s “Hot Box” chart for over two weeks. It’s also currently the sixth most-Shazamed dance song in the world.
 
Here’s what Diplo said about India, which is where the video was filmed:
 
“India is special and its beauty absolutely humbled me. When we toured there as Major Lazer, it was mind blowing to see our fan-base and we wanted to incorporate the attitude and positive vibes into our video and just do something that embodies the essence of Major Lazer. Major Lazer has always been a culture mashup and to us, India feels like some kind of special creature with one foot in history and one firmly in the future. The experience is something we’ll never forget.”

Major Lazer’s ‘Get Free’ Remixed by Jerome Price


 
It’s been a couple months since we’ve heard from Jerome Price — the rising UK producer who brought us the outstanding remix of Tim Berg’s “Seek Bromance,” and the Aaliyah-sampling “Motion.” Today, the Newcastle native has returned with another strong effort, this time a juicy remix of Major Lazer’s reggae-tinged anthem, “Get Free.” Price’s 123 BPM rework is built around a rolling house drop, but also contains elements of trap in the buildup. How Jamaican Music Has Influenced Major Lazer


 
It’s common knowledge that reggae and dancehall have been a huge influence on Diplo’s Major Lazer group. But how exactly has the music of Jamaica impacted them?
 
A new mini-documentary featuring Major Lazer’s Diplo and Walshy Fire answers that question and explores the influence of Jamaican dub and dancehall producers on hip-hop and EDM.
 
The 10-minute piece also features legendary reggae producer, King Jammy, who’s credited by many as being the genre’s first “digital rhythm” producer.
 
We’ve always felt that the connection between Jamaica and today’s music should be more recognized — props to Major Lazer and Rolling Stone for helping spread the word.

Major Lazer and DJ Snake Drop New Track, ‘Lean On’


 
Diplo has been very busy lately. From producing a large chunk of Madonna’s upcoming album to releasing his project with Skrillex, the super producer has now dropped a new track with his Major Lazer group. “Lean On” marks the project’s first collaboration with Parisian bassmaster DJ Snake and features the vocals of Danish singer MØ (from Iggy Azalea’s “Beg For It”). While Major Lazer is best known for delivering high-energy tracks, “Lean On” is slightly more subdued and features a moombahton beat.

Machel Montano and Sean Paul Team Up for ‘One Wine’ Featuring Major Lazer


 
Last week, Diplo’s Major Lazer project dropped a remix of Inner Circle’s reggae classic, “Bad Boys.” Now they’re back again, this time as the producers of a song by Trinidadian soca artist Machel Montano and dancehall superstar Sean Paul. “One Wine” is the second collaboration between Paul and Major Lazer, with the first being 2014’s “Come On To Me.” Shout out to Diplo for sending us the high-quality version!
