J Rythm Releases ‘Oye Mi Canto’ on DJcity Records
Los Angele’s J Rythm drops his first release on DJcity Records titled, “Oye Mi Canto.” The track is a Latin house remake of N.O.R.E‘s 2004 anthem with the same title featuring Nina Sky, Gem Star, Daddy Yankee and Big Mato.
“This single started with a simple house remix idea of an all time favorite reggaeton classic “Oye Mi Canto” with N.O.R.E. and Nina Sky,” J Rythm says. “I thought an uptempo version that included the original catchy melody and recognizable chorus would make something special for the dance floor for summer 2023.”

Gian Varela, Jenn Morel, Boro Boro, and J Rythm Release ‘CHEKE’
Gian Varela, Jenn Morel, Boro Boro, and J Rythm have teamed up to release a modern take on Reel 2 Reel’s 1994 classic “I Like To Move It,” titled “CHEKE.” Legendary house producer Erick Morillo and Ralphie Muniz comprised the tandem, and the near three-decade-old track also features dancehall vocals by Trinidadian rapper The Mad Stuntman.
The bass-heavy and deep-grooving updated version samples the Reel 2 Real’s classic. Regarding using the sample, J Rythm noted to DJcity, “Paying homage to the legend, Erick Morillo.”

Da Phonk & J Rythm Remix Daddy Yankee’s ‘Tu Principe’: DJcity Exclusive
Dutch DJ/producer Da Phonk and Los Angeles’ J Rythm have given a banging, dembow-driven refresh to Daddy Yankee‘s Zion y Lennox collaboration “Tu Principe.” Upon its release in 2005, the song cracked the top 40 of Billboard’s Hot Latin charts and has remained a Latin club favorite ever since.
Da Phonk notes: “When I heard this classic banger, I knew right away that I could make a pumping 2020 remix! With the special touch of my buddy from LA, we made a remix with heavy build-ups and a banging moombahton drop.” J Rythm continues, “We felt [like] keeping the original vibe but flipping the drop into a moombah kinda style, by chopping up some vocal samples to create lots of energy.”
