In the reggae and dancehall scenes, singers often drop tracks that use previously released instrumentals a.k.a. riddims. In some cases, there can be 10 tracks floating around that all use the same instrumental but feature different artists and lyrics.

Dancehall legend Sean Paul has continued the tradition by dropping his own version of J Balvin and Willy William‘s reggaeton smash, “Mi Gente.” Paul’s track, which is called “Volcano,” pairs the original instrumental with new lyrics.
