SH8K Remixes Eric Prydz’s ‘Call On Me’: DJcity Exclusive

The latest from San Diego’s SH8K is a bass-heavy remix of Eric Prydz‘s 2004 house smash “Call On Me.” Aided by one of the more sensual music videos of the 2000s, the Steve Winwood-sampling song reached number one on the UK pop charts.

“I wasn’t quite sure how my style of bouncy house music and hip-hop was gonna translate into such a classic,” SH8K says. He adds, “It’s so much fun! and I think that came through in this remix!”

Eric Prydz’s 2014 single “Call on Me” just got remixed by Canada’s Delirious & Alex K.
 
The original peaked at number one on the UK Singles chart and 29 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Play chart.

Eric Prydz Is Taking Submissions for His Next Mix

Back in 2013, Swedish DJ/producer Eric Prydz included a track in his BBC Radio 1 “Essential Mix” by Cory Lasser, a relatively unknown producer at the time. The obscure selection immediately sparked curiosity in the blogosphere, as fans wanted to know who Lasser was and how Prydz discovered him. It turned out that Lasser submitted an original to Prydz just weeks before the mix aired.
 
On January 3, Prydz and fellow Swede Jeremy Olander will deliver the first “Essential Mix” of 2015. Once again, producers will have a chance to be included in the mix, as Prydz announced yesterday that he’s now taking submissions of original tracks:

Legendary Swedish DJ/producer Eric Prydz joins deadmau5 in his latest “Coffee Run” video. Originally filmed during Ultra Music Festival, the two DJs cruise around Miami and catch up before their joint show later that night.
