D’Maduro and Shaun Johannes Remix Aaliyah’s ‘Rock The Boat: DJcity Exclusive

(Source: D’Maduro)

Dutch DJ/producer D’Maduro and South Africa’s Shaun Johannes have added soulful, modern vibes to Aaliyah‘s 2001 R&B classic “Rock The Boat.” The track stayed on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for half a year in 2002 and was nominated for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the 44th Annual Grammy Awards.

“This smooth R&B hit needed some extra love,” D’Maduro says. “So I’ve teamed up with one of South Africa’s most talented bass players, Shaun Johannes, to add some funky and flavor-filled bass lines.” Stylistically, the remix picks up where D’Maduro left off with his flip of Al Green‘s 1971 classic “Let’s Stay Together”.

Ashanti’s ‘Only U’ Remixed by HUNDRD PCT: DJcity Exclusive

(Source: HUNDRD PCT)

DJcity remixer DJ Valid has been releasing tracks under the name HUNDRD PCT, a side project made to explore the soulful side of house music. One of the latest releases from the project is his remix of Ashanti‘s 2004 hit “Only U.”

“I enjoy playing older R&B flipped into house remixes lately,” HUNDRD PTC says. “I felt this song could use an updated remix to fit in my sets. The horns started out as the main drop but I felt it needed something a little different. Now that most club venues are fully open, hopefully DJs enjoy this one and drop it this summer!”

Drake’s ‘All Me’ Feat. 2 Chainz Remixed by Fresco: DJcity Exclusive

Austin, Texas’ Fresco has delivered another bass-boosted, dancefloor-ready remix exclusively for DJcity. This time, it’s Drake‘s 2013 hit “All Me” featuring 2 Chainz.

“I’ve always felt ‘All Me’ by Drake had the potential to be reworked into a house or future house remix which I want to start exploring more,” Fresco says. “The vibe of the original track and the chorus lends itself for a nice breakdown and buildup into an energetic and bouncy drop, and that’s what I tried to accomplish.”
