First Look: Denon DJ Engine Prime 1.4.0 Public Beta
On this episode of Tips and Tricks, Mojaxx takes a first look at the recent updates to Denon DJ‘s Engine Prime music analysis and library management software.
In this public beta for Engine Prime 1.4.0, Denon DJ introduces MacOS Catalina and Apple Music app support, a new Sync Manager feature, and a number of additional enhancements and improvements to the software.

Following up on Denon DJ’s announcement last week, Mojaxx takes a first look at the latest additions to its flagship line of media players. The SC6000 PRIME and SC6000M Prime build upon the standard set by the previous generation of players.

Denon DJ Launch New Flagship Media Players and Mixer
Today Denon DJ announced the latest additions to its PRIME series of hardware. The additions include two new media players, the SC6000 PRIME and SC6000M PRIME, along with the X1850 PRIME 4-channel mixer.
The players feature a 10.1″ multi-touch display, 8.5″ jog wheel, USB, SD, and SATA inputs, WiFi connectivity, and more. They utilize Denon DJ’s Engine PRIME software, which supports iTunes, Serato, Rekordbox, and Traktor-based music libraries. The turntablist-friendly SC6000M also boasts a motorized platter and vinyl control disk.
The X1850 PRIME mixer features dual USB inputs, 16 BPM-based FX with new FX Quantize control, an OLED screen for FX adjustments, a MIDI clock feature for syncing external instruments, and more.

Denon DJ Adds Streaming And More To Prime Series Hardware With 1.4 Update
Today, Denon DJ released the new 1.4 firmware update for their Prime Series family of hardware. This version finalizes some features which have been teased or in beta for some time, and also brings a few unseen features to the table. Highlights include:
Tidal Integration Via Wi-Fi And Wired Connections
Users can now stream music directly to Prime Series hardware from the first of Denon DJ’s streaming partners, Tidal.
Track Preview From Library
On the SC5000 and SC5000M players, users now have the ability to preview a track directly from the library display, without having to load the track.
New Zoneplay Feature For The Zone Output
Prime 4 users will find a significantly improved Zone Output with the new Zoneplay feature. This allows the DJ to send a playlist to a seperate zone or room with a smooth automated crossfade between tracks, and the crossfade time is adjustable.
Expanded Track List (PRIME 4)
In v1.4, PRIME 4 users have the ability to choose between normal or exapnded track list views, with the expanded list nearly doubling the amount of displayed tracks.
Loop In & Out Point Adjustment
DJs can now fine adjust the in and out points of both manual and autoloops using the platter.
In addition, the 1.4 update also brings the following enhancements:
Improved quantized cue and loop triggering
Improved search speed for high volume drives
Forward and backward platter nidge sensitivity is now matched
Quantize state is saved on shutdown and recalled on power-up
Rekordbox import on players now imports playlists in the correct order
