Legendary radio host Angie Martinez announced Wednesday morning that she’s resigned from iconic New York hip-hop station, Hot 97.

Known as “The Voice of New York,” Martinez spent 15 years on the air with Hot 97, having joined the company at 16-years-old. She’s interviewed some of music’s biggest artists including Mariah Carey, JAY Z, Kanye West, among others.

Martinez’s resignation was revealed in a heart-felt message on her Instagram account:

“Today I resigned from HOT97. I am grateful to the Emmis family for my time with the company and the immeasurable way that it has shaped my life. We made history together in so many ways and I will cherish those memories and my friendships forever. This was one of the toughest decisions I’ve ever had to make but ultimately it is time to move on, to grow and to be challenged in new ways. Saying goodbye is always”

It’s unclear what Martinez’s plans are for the future but Billboard pointed out that competing NY radio station, Power 105.1, “re-tweeted Martinez’s tweet and added a happy face emoji, which has some questioning if her next move is to Power 105.1.”
