Clean Bandit & Jess Glynne Perform ‘Rather Be’ with Symphony Orchestra

Clean Bandit’s breakout hit “Rather Be” is one of the world’s biggest songs right now. As of today, the feel-good track featuring British singer Jess Glynne has received over 120 million YouTube plays and is #2 on the iTunes Dance chart.

As the anthem continues to receive extensive play, BBC Radio 1 has uploaded a video of the group performing the song live with Glynne and their symphony orchestra. It must be noted that Glynne’s voice sounds strikingly similar to the original studio version — a rare case in a world full of auto-tune and other effects.

Joe Maz Teams with Konflikt to Relaunch DiscoTech

DiscoTech

DJ/producer Joe Maz has teamed up with fellow Miami native Konflikt to relaunch DiscoTech.

The group was originally comprised of Maz, Gigamesh, and Danny Daze but parted ways in 2010 due to creative differences.

Maz announced the return of DiscoTech in an email newsletter last week:

“In 2013, I asked the absolute most talented DJ I have ever met to fill their large shoes. He goes by the name of Konflikt & has been based out of Miami for years. Over the course of the last few months we have been building a studio and coming up with ideas. The goal is to deliver original music & still continue to produce some remixes. We hope to bridge the gap between the ‘DJ’ & the ‘Artist’.”

To celebrate their relaunch, DischoTech has dropped a progressive house remix of Clean Bandit’s crossover hit, “Rather Be.” The original is currently #32 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and quickly gaining momentum.

Maz’s email also said that they’ve finished several originals which will be unveiled soon.
