Pioneer DJ has announced a new controller, the DDJ-800. Designed to be used with the company’s rekordbox DJ software, the DDJ-800 takes cues from the popular DDJ-1000. However, the DDJ-800 is smaller and more affordable.

The device offers two channels, switchable between four virtual decks, with a wide selection of Sound Color and Beat FX.

Its five-inch jog wheels feature full-color screens in the center, providing real-time display of waveforms, BPM, time, and more. They also have tension adjustments, enabling DJs to personalize the resistance.

Several pad modes are found on the DDJ-800, including hot cues, keyboard mode, beat loop and jump, Pad FX, and pitch shift. It’s also the first rekordbox DJ controller to support the software’s new Feedback Reducer feature, which is designed to instantly detect and remove the howling sound of feedback when using the unit’s two microphone inputs.

The DDJ-800 will be available worldwide in mid-April for $899. Get more details here, and stay tuned for Mojaxx’s first look this week.
