ZHU Serves Up 40 Minutes of New Music for Pete Tong’s ‘After-Hours’ Mix

ZHU

While ZHU has never been known for high-energy tracks, his recent mix for Pete Tong’s “After-Hours” series on BBC Radio 1 is more subdued than usual. The DJ/producer’s 40-minute set is drenched with laid-back grooves, the majority of which are unreleased. From ZHU’s head-nodding remix of Chic’s “I’ll Be There” to his steamy cover of The Weeknd’s “Often,” this mix shows his musicianship and versatility.

DJ Woody Pays Tribute to BB King with Scratch Routine

Award-winning turntablist DJ Woody has paid tribute to legendary blues musician B.B. King with a scratch routine based on his number one hit, “You Upset Me Baby.” The 89-year-old blues master passed away on Thursday night after battling health problems.

B.B. King was arguably one of the most influential musical figures of the 20th century, having inspired countless blues and rock guitarists. His impact on hip-hop music is notable too, as dozens of his recordings have been sampled throughout the years. King also collaborated with fellow Mississippian Big K.R.I.T. on the rapper’s 2012 song, “Praying Man.”
