Red Bull 3Style Selects Wild Cards for World Finals

Red Bull 3Style has selected Australia’s Beast Mode, Belgium’s DJ Cross, and Barbados’ Jus-Jay as the wild card competitors for the eighth world finals. The competition is set to take place in February 2018 in Krakow, Poland.

Beast Mode, the 2016 Red Bull 3Style Australia champion, returns to the finals after taking third place in last year’s competition. DJ Cross, the 2016 Red Bull 3Style Belgium champion, also seeks redemption while Jus-Jay makes his debut.

The three will join 21 national finalists in Poland, all of whom will be announced on Tuesday on DJcity.

Apple is Reportedly Buying Shazam

UPDATE: Apple has confirmed the acquisition in a statement provided to Billboard. The company did not reveal the specifics of the deal.

Apple is reportedly buying music recognition app Shazam for $400 million, according to multiple sources. The move would allow Apple to integrate the service into its line of mobile devices in a time when the company faces increased competition from Google and Samsung.

Recode has reported that the deal is worth $400 million, while Tech Crunch has cited sources that say the deal is expected to be signed this week. The company was last valued at $1 billion, according to various sources.

The Shazam app enables users to identify music that’s playing nearby. It has been one of the most popular mobile apps since its launch in 2008.

Founded in 1999, Shazam made $50 million in revenue in 2016, according to Business Insider.

Watch Migos, Nicki Minaj, and Cardi B’s ‘MotorSport’ Video

Migos, Nicki Minaj, and Cardi B have shared a fitting video for their single “MotorSport.” The visual finds the artists rapping in a futuristic setting surrounded by expensive cars.

The track, which was DJcity’s third most downloaded song of November, is currently No. 17 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. It also serves as the first single from Migos’ forthcoming album, Culture II.
