When it comes to Latin music, Colombian DJs are often ahead of the curve, usually playing hits months before the tracks go mainstream.

To showcase two of the country’s best DJs, we recorded a live set by Mister Diamonds and Zamurai earlier this month in Bogotá. The video was shot at a club called Vintrash with the help of DJcity Colombia rep Thombs. Vintrash is a vintage-themed bar with three levels, each offering a different style of music.

Mister Diamonds and Zamurai played a back-to-back set full of current hits and throwbacks, including a few DJcity exclusives. Their hour-long mix consisted of reggaeton, Latin hip-hop, Latin-influenced dance music, and more.

A native of Bogotá, Mister Diamonds is a 10-year veteran who was featured on the DJcity Podcast in 2017. Zamurai is a DJ/producer also from Bogotá.

In 1999, legendary guitarist Santana released his comeback album, Supernatural. The star-studded project featured a variety of artists, such as Lauryn Hill, CeeLo Green, Dave Mathews, Rob Thomas, and Eric Clapton.

In addition to smashes like “Smooth” and “Maria Maria,” the album also contained a single called “Corazon Espinado” featuring Latin rock group Maná. The song became a hit in Spanish-speaking countries and won the “Record of the Year” and “Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group” at the 2000 Latin Grammy Awards.

Now, almost 20 years later, rising Colombian producer Thombs has dropped a moombahton remix of the track as part of DJcity’s Puro Pari series. His version adds new drums and drops while retaining the original vocals.
