Major Lazer has dropped a humorous video for their Busy Signal-assisted club heater, “Jump.” The trio previously collaborated with the Jamaican dancehall artist on the hit single “Watch Out for This (Bumaye)” in 2013.

Though it currently has over four million Spotify streams, “Jump” is one of the lesser known tracks off Major Lazer’s Know No Better EP. So far, the project’s most successful tracks have been the title track and “Sua Cara.”

Particula

Major Lazer turns back time in the video for their Afrobeats and dancehall-influenced track, “Particula.” The visual depicts life in Johannesburg in the 1970s.

“Particula,” which appears on Major Lazer’s Know No Better EP, features South African DJ Maphorisa, rapper Nasty C, Nigerian artists Ice Prince and Patoranking, and Nigerian-American artist Jidenna.

South African director Adriaan Louw discussed the idea behind the video in a press release:

“I’ve always wanted to shoot a film like this in Johannesburg. It was creating an ideal world within Joburg that was based in the 70s. I wanted it to feel like we were shooting a documentary of the culture that could have been in a city where disco, funk, Fela Kuti was everywhere.”

Sua Cara

Following the release of their interactive video for “Know No Better,” Major Lazer has unveiled the visual for “Sua Cara.” The track features Brazilian singers Anitta and Pabllo Vittar.

The video, which was filmed in Morocco’s Sahara Desert, shows the singers dancing while Diplo and others race around on ATVs.

Anitta is a platinum selling artist who’s collaborated with the likes of J Balvin, Maluma, and Iggy Azalea.

Pabllo, a drag queen, captured Diplo’s attention with his track “Open Bar,” which is a Portuguese-language version of Major Lazer’s “Lean On.” In January, Diplo co-produced a song called “Então Vai” on Pabllo’s debut album, Vai Passar Mal.

Major Lazer is famous for making innovative music, but it’s also creative with its marketing.

On Thursday, the group released a new version of its video for “Know No Better,” featuring Travis Scott, Camila Cabello, and Quavo. However, unlike the previous visual, this one is interactive.

Directed by Philip Andelman and hosted by Eko, the clip enables viewers to toggle between a young boy’s real life and dream world. As Billboard puts it, “This is the kind of the music video you can get lost in.”
