Live Evil

DJ/production duo Live Evil have delivered a unique set for Serato’s In The Mix series. In their performance, consisting mostly of throwback hip-hop, the Vancouver natives combine DJing with live instrumentation to flip tracks on the fly.

Live Evil is made up of DJcity Canada team member DJ Marvel and Serato artist relations representative Kutkorners.

Cosmo Baker

Cosmo Baker, a veteran party rocker and turntablist from Philadelphia, has delivered an eclectic mini mix for Serato’s In the Mix series. His 20-minute set consists of funk, hip-hop, R&B, and nu disco-flavored remixes. Baker also throws in some live blends and turntablism throughout.

Baker is the director of Scratch DJ Academy’s Philadelphia branch. He has played alongside DJs like Jazzy Jeff, A-Trak, Diplo, and Z-Trip, and artists such as Drake, Jay-Z, A$AP Rocky, and The Roots.

J Live

Rapper, DJ, and producer J-Live has delivered a creative performance for Serato’s In the Mix series. The New York City native raps, scratches, and juggles songs from his catalog in his 10-minute set, which was shot at the A3C Festival & Conference in Atlanta.

Now based in Atlanta, J-Live is best known as an underground rapper who came up during the ’90s. He has worked with the likes of DJ Premier, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and Pete Rock.

DJ Cross

DJ Cross, the Red Bull Music 3Style World Finals VIII runner-up, has thrown down a turntablist-friendly set for Serato’s In the Mix series. The Belgian native puts his skills on display in his impressive 14-minute mini mix, which was shot at Serato’s London studio. His diverse set features classic and throwback hip-hop, drum and bass, and more.

Nick Bike

During his time at the PLAYLIST Retreat in August, Vancouver DJ/producer Nick Bike hooked up with Serato to perform a set for their In the Mix series. The Red Bull Music 3Style VIII Canada finalist put down 13 minutes of mostly hip-hop and nu-disco, including several of his edits. His set, which was filmed inside DJ Jazzy Jeff’s basement, features the track “Night Lights” from his freshly released Night Lights EP.
