Gang Starr has dropped the music video for “Bad Name,” the second single off their latest album, One Of The Best Yet. The visual, which was directed by Drew Morris and DJ Premier, pays homage to Gang Starr’s legacy and the iconic late rapper Guru.

The video features Preemo pitching the song to internet personality, Anthony “Spice” Adams, and includes footage of Guru’s 19-year-old son Keith Casim rapping his father’s lyrics.

“I initially wanted ‘Bad Name’ to be the first single that officially brought Gang Starr back,” Premier stated in a press release. “I wanted a fun video with Spice Adams and for Guru’s son to play his father in the video — and then never do that again. We ended up going with ‘Family and Loyalty’ with J. Cole as the first single and it worked out perfectly, as Keith was able to get more comfortable being in front of the camera and used to the process.”

Gang Starr has shared the music video for “Family and Loyalty,” their first release in 16 years which features J. Cole and unreleased vocals by the iconic late rapper Guru. The visual, which was directed by hip-hop legend Fab 5 Freddy, includes archival footage of the legendary MC as well as a cameo by his 19-year-old son Keith Casim.

“Keith was nine when his father passed away, and he is now nineteen,” DJ Premier explained in the press release. “I used to babysit him. He made me feel like Guru was there with me. I told him he has the same look in his eyes as his father and everyone on set commented on how striking the resemblance is. It was really important to me to have Guru’s son be a major focus of the video.”
